Pirate Enchants

Limited time

Twenty-one limited-time pirate-themed custom enchants that come on seasonal skins and the Pirate Parrot pet in Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival.

Available on Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival.

Pirate Enchants are the 21 custom enchants of the limited-time ☠ Pirate ☠ crate set. Twenty of them come on Pirate skins for weapons, tools, a shield and armor, and one, Treasure Sense, comes on the Pirate Parrot pet. The set has been offered in Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival, and is not necessarily available right now. The enchants are not sold in the enchant shop and do not come from runes or enchanted books.

How to get it#

Each Pirate enchant sits on one skin or on the parrot pet, which have been offered through limited-time crates. The level is rolled when the reward is created, and every level from I to III is equally likely. III is also each enchant's maximum level.

  1. Open a crate that carries the set. Keys for limited-time crates are sold in the store while they are offered. See Crates and Opening Crates for crates in general and Skyblock Crates, Prison Crates, Crates and Crates for each mode.
  2. Keep or reroll. Some crates let you keep the reward or reroll it for Gems, see Opening Crates.
  3. Redeem the voucher. Skins and the parrot arrive as vouchers. Right-click a voucher to add the skin or pet to your collection.
  4. Apply a skin. Open /skins, pick the skin and press its apply button. The skin goes onto the first matching item: worn armor, then the item in your off hand, then hotbar slots 1 to 9. It must be the item type in the "Fits" column, so swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, spears and armor must be Netherite. The item takes the skin's look, the vanilla enchants listed above and the Pirate enchant at the rolled level. Removing the skin takes those enchants off again and restores the levels the item had before. See Cosmetics for skins in general.
  5. Summon the parrot. Open /pets, click My pets, click the Pirate Parrot and click Apply the pet. Treasure Sense works only while the parrot is out; Remove pet puts it away again.

Besides enchanted skins and the parrot, the set also has cosmetics without an enchant: back items, a kill effect, a chat color, a tag, a kill tag and a join message. The Pirate set has no set bonus for wearing all four armor skins.

Enchants#

All values are the same in Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival. Damage is in health points, where 2 points are 1 heart. Cooldowns are per player and start only when the enchant actually triggers.

Enchant details#

Plunder#

Applies to: Swords. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Sword. Trigger: A creature you killed dies while you hold the sword in your main hand.

On a successful roll the dead creature drops extra items on top of its normal loot: one item per enchant level. Each item is picked at random from the haul (4 Gold Nuggets, 2 Gold Ingots, 2 Iron Ingots or 3 Lapis Lazuli); for each item there is a 6% chance to pick from the captain's share instead (2 Emeralds, 1 Diamond or 1 Gold Block). Kills made by Skyblock collectors and robots do not count. There is no cooldown.

Riposte#

Applies to: Swords. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Cutlass. Trigger: Taking a melee hit from a player or mob while you hold the cutlass in your main hand.

On a successful roll the attacker takes a share of the damage you received (after your armor), dealt by you, and you gain Speed II for 4 seconds. The hit on you is not reduced. Projectiles do not trigger it. The 5-second cooldown starts with each parry.

Backstab#

Applies to: Swords. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Dagger. Trigger: A direct melee hit from behind the target, with the dagger in your main hand.

"Behind" means you stand in the rear part of the target's view, within about 66 degrees of directly behind it (judged from the way the target faces, ignoring height). Such a hit deals extra damage to players and mobs alike. There is no chance roll and no cooldown, and sweeping hits do not count.

Reaper's Harvest#

Applies to: Swords. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Scythe. Trigger: A direct melee hit on a creature with the scythe in your main hand.

On a successful roll every other living creature within the radius of the target takes a share of the damage your hit dealt to the target, dealt by you. You and the target are not hit by it. Players, mobs and animals in range are all affected. There is no cooldown.

Siren's Call#

Applies to: Swords. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Staff. Trigger: A direct melee hit on a creature with the staff in your main hand.

On a successful roll the target is pulled toward you with a small lift and gets Nausea for 3 seconds at every level. A targeted player sees a warning on the action bar. The 6-second cooldown starts with each pull.

Broadside#

Applies to: Maces. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Mace. Trigger: Any direct melee hit on a creature with the mace in your main hand; a smash attack is not required.

On a successful roll a blast goes off at the target. Every other living creature within the radius of the target, except you, takes blast damage from you and is knocked away from the target. The target itself takes only your normal hit. The 8-second cooldown starts with each blast.

Harpoon#

Applies to: Spears. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Spear. Trigger: A direct melee hit on a creature with the spear in your main hand.

On a successful roll the target is reeled toward you with a small lift and gets Slowness III. A targeted player sees a warning on the action bar. The effect causes no extra damage and does not stop the target from sprinting. The 5-second cooldown starts with each proc.

Kraken's Grasp#

Applies to: Tridents. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Trident. Trigger: Hitting a creature with the trident, either in melee from your main hand or with a thrown trident.

On a successful roll the target is seized for the listed time and gets Mining Fatigue III for the same time. A seized player cannot move sideways or jump (falling still works) and sees a warning on the action bar; a mob only loses its current momentum. A thrown trident uses its own enchant level, so it works after it leaves your hand. The 20-second cooldown starts with each proc.

Boarding Axe#

Applies to: Axes. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Axe. Trigger: A direct melee hit on a creature with the axe in your main hand.

On a successful roll the target gets Weakness I for the listed time. If the target is a player, their shield is also put on cooldown for the same time, so they cannot block, and they see a warning on the action bar. The 6-second cooldown starts with each proc.

Buried Gold#

Applies to: Pickaxes. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Pickaxe. Trigger: Breaking stone, cobblestone, deepslate, cobbled deepslate, andesite, diorite, granite or tuff with the pickaxe in your main hand (not in Creative mode).

On a successful roll the block drops one extra item. It usually comes from the coin pouch (5 Gold Nuggets, 2 Gold Ingots, 3 Iron Ingots, 4 Lapis Lazuli or 2 Amethyst Shards, picked at random); 5% of the time it comes from the captain's hoard instead (2 Diamonds, 3 Emeralds or 1 Gold Block). Ores do not trigger it. There is no cooldown. It does not trigger inside Prison mines.

Applies to: Shovels. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Shovel. Trigger: Breaking sand, red sand, gravel, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, clay, soul sand or soul soil with the shovel in your main hand (not in Creative mode).

On a successful roll the block spills a cache of extra items. Each item is picked at random from 3 Rotten Flesh, 3 Bones, 4 String, 2 Leather, 6 Gold Nuggets, 2 Iron Ingots, 1 Emerald, 1 Name Tag, 1 Map or 2 Tropical Fish. There is no cooldown. It does not trigger inside Prison mines.

Rum Runner#

Applies to: Hoes. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Hoe. Trigger: Harvesting sugar cane, wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroots, nether wart, melons, pumpkins or cocoa with the hoe in your main hand (not in Creative mode).

Staged crops (wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroots, nether wart and cocoa) must be fully grown; sugar cane, melons and pumpkins always count. On a successful roll the block drops its normal drops a second time, worked out with your hoe, so Fortune applies, and you get Speed I for 5 seconds. There is no cooldown.

Chain Shot#

Applies to: Bows. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Bow. Trigger: An arrow shot from the bow hits a living creature.

Every arrow that hits gives the target Slowness IV for the listed time. A player target also cannot jump for the same time and sees a warning on the action bar. There is no chance roll and no cooldown; arrows that hit a block do nothing.

Grapeshot#

Applies to: Crossbows. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Crossbow. Trigger: Firing a bolt with the crossbow in your main hand.

The chance is rolled for each bolt the crossbow launches. On a successful roll extra copies of the bolt are fired from the same spot, fanned out to both sides of it across an 18-degree spread. The extra bolts cannot be picked up and do not roll again. There is no cooldown.

Hull Plating#

Applies to: Shields. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Shield. Trigger: Taking damage while you are blocking with the shield raised, in either hand.

While you block, every source of damage you take is reduced by the listed share before armor, on top of what the shield already blocks. There is no cooldown.

Spyglass#

Applies to: Helmets. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Helmet. Trigger: Wearing the helmet; checked every 2 seconds.

While worn you have Night Vision and Water Breathing, without particles or an effect icon. Every mob within the range, including animals and other passive mobs, gets the Glowing effect for a little over 2 seconds, renewed while it stays in range. Players are never outlined. The glow is a normal Glowing effect, so other players see it too. A mob that already glows for another reason is left alone.

Davy Jones' Locker#

Applies to: Chestplates. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Chestplate. Trigger: A hit from a player or mob leaves you at or below 30% of your maximum health while wearing the chestplate.

When it triggers you gain Absorption II and Resistance II, and the attacker gets Blindness and Slowness III, all for the listed time. You see a message on the action bar, and so does an attacking player. A hit that would kill you does not trigger it, and projectiles do not count because the attacker must hit you directly. The 45-second cooldown starts each time it triggers.

LevelDuration

Sea Legs#

Applies to: Leggings. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Leggings. Trigger: Wearing the leggings.

Knockback you take is reduced by the listed share (capped at 60%). Every 2 seconds the leggings also remove any Slowness and Nausea from you, including the Slowness from Chain Shot, Harpoon and Davy Jones' Locker and the Nausea from Siren's Call. Chain Shot's jump block is not removed. There is no cooldown.

Dead Man's Boots#

Applies to: Boots. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Boots. Trigger: Being in water while wearing the boots (checked every second), or taking drowning damage.

The first time you are in water while the enchant is ready, a window opens. During the window your air stays full, drowning damage is cancelled, and while you are in water you have Water Breathing and Dolphin's Grace (no particles or icon). The window runs out even if you leave the water. When it ends, the cooldown starts and the boots do nothing for water until it is over. Separately, at any time, fall damage you take while landing in water or another liquid is cancelled.

Deep Haul#

Applies to: Fishing rods. Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Fishing Rod. Trigger: Catching a fish with the rod in your main hand.

On a successful roll extra salvage drops where the catch came up, and you see a message on the action bar. Each item is picked at random from 1 Nautilus Shell, 3 Prismarine Shards, 2 Prismarine Crystals, 6 Gold Nuggets, 3 Ink Sacs, 5 Kelp, 2 Sea Pickles or 1 Heart of the Sea. There is no cooldown.

Treasure Sense#

Applies to: Pets (Pirate Parrot). Max level: III (the crate rolls I to III). Comes on: Pirate Parrot pet. Trigger: While the parrot is summoned.

Four times a second, dropped items and XP orbs within range drift toward you until they are close enough for normal pickup. An item is only pulled once its pickup delay has passed and only if it is not reserved for another player, so it does not take other players' fresh death drops. It works in Skyblock and Survival only: in Lifesteal it is switched off, and in Prison the parrot cannot be summoned.
