The changelog is the list of every update published on Netherite. You can read it in game with /changelog (or /updates) on the hub, Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival, and the same updates appear on the changelog page of the Netherite website and in the Discord changelog channel.

You rarely need to type view or book yourself: every update line in chat is clickable and fills in the update for you.
The Updates menu#
/changelog opens a menu titled Updates with up to 21 update cards per page, newest first. Use the arrows in the bottom corners to change page.
Each card shows:
- the update's title as the item name, and its category and date ("today", "yesterday", "3 days ago", or the full date after a week)
- NEW "You haven't read this yet", with a glint on the item, if you have not opened it
- a short summary and up to five key points
- Gamemodes: the modes the update is about, when it names any
- how many views and likes it has
- "Click to read"
Click a card to open the full update as a book. On Bedrock the update is shown in chat instead, because the book screen is not available there.
The Mark all as read button (lime dye) in the middle of the bottom row clears every NEW marker at once.

Reading in chat#
/changelog 1 prints a page of updates in chat under an Updates · page 1 header. Each line shows NEW for unread updates, the category, the title and the date. Hover a line to see its summary and click it to read the update. « Previous and Next » at the bottom move between pages.
/changelog search <term> works the same way but only lists updates that match your word, for example /changelog search crates. If nothing matches you see "No updates match crates." with your word.
The chat view of a single update shows the category and title, the date and gamemodes, the view and like counts, the summary and the first lines of the update. Long updates end with "… the rest continues in the book view." When an update came from player suggestions, it ends with Suggested by and the players' names. Two buttons follow: [Read as book] and [All updates].
Views and likes#
Opening an update in the menu, in chat or as a book counts as a view and marks it as read. Opening the same update again shortly afterwards does not add another view. Likes are given on the website changelog (The Netherite Website); the game shows the totals.
Update notices#
- New update notice. When staff publish an update with an in-game announcement, every online player sees a New update notice with the category, title, summary and key points, and » Click to read more to open it.
- Join reminder. A few seconds after you join, the game tells you, for example, "There are 3 new updates since you last looked." if updates were published since you last opened the changelog. Click it to open the menu. You get this reminder at most once every 12 hours, however often you switch servers.
