Trading is the safe way to swap goods directly with another player. You and the other player each fill your own half of a shared window with items and currency, review what you will receive, and both click accept. If either of you backs out, nothing moves.
Starting a trade#
- Run
/trade <player>with the name of an online player in your gamemode. You get Trade request sent to the player. - The other player sees
<name>wants to trade with you! with a click-to-accept message. - They accept with
/trade accept <player>(or/accepttrade <player>) or click the message. Both of you see Starting trade with the other player and the trade window opens.
A request lasts 30 seconds. To refuse, the other player runs /trade decline <player> (or /declinetrade <player>) and you are told they declined.
| You see | Reason |
|---|---|
| You can't trade with yourself! | You named your own account. |
| name already has a trade request from you. | You already have a pending request to that player. |
| Trade request from name not found. | The request expired or was never sent. |
The trade window#
The window is titled Trade with and the other player's name. It is split in two:
- The left side is your offer, a grid of 20 slots you can freely fill with items from your inventory.
- The right side is the other player's offer. It is display-only.
- The bottom row has an Add currency button, an indicator showing whether the other player has accepted, and your own accept pane.
The summary on your accept pane lists You will receive and You will give, so you can check the whole trade at a glance before you accept.
Adding currency#
Click Add currency, pick the currency and type an amount in the prompt. The button then shows You are currently offering with your amount. You can offer currency and items in the same trade.
| Gamemode | Currencies you can trade |
|---|---|
| Skyblock | Money, Gems |
| Lifesteal | Money, Gems |
| Survival | Money, Gems |
| Prison | Tokens, Gems |
If you offer more than you have, the trade fails with not enough currency instead of completing.
Accepting#
- Look at both offers and the summary.
- Click your accept pane. It turns green and reads You accepted this trade. The other player's pane reads has not accepted this trade yet in red until they accept too.
- When both panes are green, the trade is finalized. You see Trade finalized! and the items and currency are delivered to each side. Items that do not fit in your inventory drop at your feet.
Safety rules built into the window:
- No changes after the other player accepts. Once the other player has accepted the current offer you cannot change yours: you see "You cannot modify items in the trade menu after the other party already accepted."
- Accepting has a cooldown of 1 second (3 seconds on Lifesteal). Clicking accept again sooner is ignored with "You can't accept this trade this fast!"
- Adding items too fast is slowed down. Items placed more often than every quarter of a second are rejected with "Please don't add items to the trade this fast."
- Either player can cancel. Closing the trade window cancels the trade with "Trade cancelled by player!" and nothing changes hands.
- A trade session that is left open lasts at most 30 minutes.
- If something goes wrong on the server you get Trade failed. Please try again. with a trade id you can quote to staff.
Trade history#
/tradehistory opens a list of your completed trades. Each entry shows the other player, how many items and currencies each side gave, when it happened and "Click to view details". The details view lists every item and currency each player offered, the date and the trade id. You can only open your own history.
Differences by gamemode#
Trading works the same on Skyblock, Lifesteal, Survival and Prison, with two differences: the currency you can add (see the table above) and the accept cooldown, which is 3 seconds on Lifesteal and 1 second elsewhere. There is no trading on the hub.
Tips#
- Use trading, not
/pay, when you swap an item for money so both sides are protected. - If you ever need to report a trade to staff, quote the trade id shown in
/tradehistorydetails. - For goods you want to sell to anyone at a fixed price, use the Auction House or a chest shop instead.
