Orders is the player-run job board on Prison. You post an order for an item, a quantity and a price per item. Other players fill it from their own inventory and are paid at once, out of the payment you put in escrow when you posted it.
Orders are not a profession or a fixed-pay job system. Every order and every price comes from a player. The in-game guide lists filling player orders as step 4 of getting started.
Overview#
- Command
- /orders (also /playerjobs)
- Open orders per player
- 1 by default; some ranks allow more
- Order expiry
- Orders do not expire
- Reward currencies
- Money, Gems
- Post an order with
/orders create, or click the Orders book at the top of either order menu. - There is no fee or tax on posting, filling or refunds.
- An order can be filled in parts by several players. You cannot fill an order you posted yourself.
Filling an order#
- Run
/orders. The Orders board lists every open order, newest first, across several pages. Use the arrows at the bottom to change page. - Each entry shows the item, the quantity, the price per item and the order total, who requested it, how much is already filled, and how long ago it was posted. Click an order to open it.
- The Filling Order menu shows the requested item with its amount and price per item, between two buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sell Entire Inventory (chest) | Hands over as many matching items as you carry, up to the quantity still missing. |
| Sell Item (sign) | Asks you for an Amount, then hands over that many items, up to the quantity still missing. |
- The menu closes and you are paid immediately. You see Filled Nx items.
Items come from your main inventory and hotbar. Armor and offhand slots are not used. An item only counts if it is the same item the order asks for.
Payment#
You receive the order's price per item multiplied by the number of items you handed over, in the order's currency. The money is already held in escrow, so there is nothing to wait for and nothing to collect. No fee or tax is taken from the payment.
Filling messages#
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Filled Nx items | The items were handed over and you were paid. |
| You don't have enough items | You carry none of the requested item. |
| Cannot fill your own order | The order is yours. |
| Order not found | Another player filled the rest of the order, or it was deactivated, before you finished. Any items the order did not take are returned to you. |
If you ask for more than the order still needs, only the missing amount is taken. The Amount prompt only accepts whole numbers above 0. If you cancel the prompt or enter anything else, you return to the order menu and nothing is sold.
Posting an order#
Run /orders create. The flow has four steps.
Step 1: select the item#
The Select Item menu lists the items you can request on pages, arranged roughly by type and then by name. Click the Search name tag to filter by item name. Click an item to choose it. Items that cannot be obtained in the game are not listed.
Step 2: enter the quantity#
A prompt titled Enter quantity asks for the quantity. It must be a whole number above 0. Cancelling, or entering anything else, closes the menu.
Step 3: choose the currency and price#
The Select Currency menu offers two buttons.
After you pick one, a prompt titled Enter amount asks for the price per item. If you cancel, or enter an amount that cannot be read, the menu closes.
A price of 0 is accepted and creates an order that pays nothing. A price below 0 is refused when you confirm.
Step 4: confirm#
The Confirm order menu shows the three buttons below. The total is the quantity multiplied by the price per item.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Confirm (emerald block) | Shows the cost, charges you the total and posts the order. |
| Order information (gold block) | Item, amount, price per item and total. Not clickable. |
| Cancel (redstone block) | Closes the menu without posting. |
When you confirm, the whole total is taken from your balance immediately and held in escrow. You see Order created.
Posting messages#
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Order created | The order is on the board. |
| Not enough money | You cannot cover the total in the chosen currency. Nothing is charged. |
| Order limit reached, list more orders concurrently by purchasing a higher rank. | You already have your maximum number of active orders. The limit is checked when you click Confirm, and nothing is charged. |
| Invalid amount | The price per item is below 0. Nothing is charged. |
| Unable to create your order right now. Please try again later. | The order could not be saved. Try again. |
Your orders#
Open /orders and click the Your Orders nether star at the bottom. Your Orders also has the Orders book at the top for posting another order. It lists each order you posted that still has something to do, with:
- the item, the quantity and the filled amount (for example 40/64)
- the price per item and the total
- whether the order is Active (still open) or Inactive (completely filled or deactivated)
- how long ago it was posted
Click an order to open its order menu, which has three buttons.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Deactivate Order (redstone) | Takes the order off the board and refunds the unfilled part. Turns into Inactive once done. |
| Redeem Items (chest) | Collects the items other players filled. |
| Fill history (clock) | Lists every fill. |
Redeeming items#
The items other players hand over are not delivered to you automatically. You collect them with Redeem Items in the order's menu.
- Left-click redeems up to one stack of the item. Anything that does not fit in your inventory goes to your overflow backpack.
- Right-click redeems as many items as fit in your inventory. If there is no room at all, you see Inventory full and nothing is redeemed.
You see Redeemed Nx items. You can only redeem items that have actually been filled and not yet redeemed, so redeeming does nothing while no items are waiting.
Fill history#
Fill History lists each fill of the order, oldest first, with the quantity, the seller, the price paid for that fill and how long ago it happened.
Deactivating an order#
Deactivate an order to take it off the board before it is filled.
- The refund is the price per item multiplied by the unfilled quantity, in the order's currency.
- Items that other players already handed over stay redeemable.
- A partly filled order becomes Inactive and stays in Your Orders until you have redeemed everything. An order with nothing left to redeem disappears.
- There is no confirmation prompt: one click deactivates the order.
Limits and rules#
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Active orders | 1 per player by default. Only unfilled orders count, so an order that is completely filled or deactivated frees its slot even if you have not redeemed the items yet. |
| Expiry | None. An order stays on the board until it is filled or you deactivate it. |
| Escrow | The full total is charged when you post. |
| Fee or tax | None on posting, filling or refunds. |
| Quantity | A whole number above 0. |
| Price | 0 or more, in Money or Gems. |
| Own orders | You cannot fill your own order. |
| Partial fills | Allowed. The order shows filled/total and stays open until the quantity is complete. |
Differences from other modes#
Orders work the same way on every mode that has them, with the same command, default limit and escrow rules.
| Feature | Prison | Skyblock | Survival | Lifesteal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Command | /orders | /orders | /orders | /orders |
| Currencies when posting | Money, Gems | Money, Gems | Money, Gems | Money, Gems |
| Active orders by default | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Expiry | Never | Never | Never | Never |
Only the look of some menu buttons differs: Skyblock uses its own button icons and Survival its own colours.
Tips#
- Compare an order's price with what the item sells for in the shop or on the auction house before you post it. Fillers choose the orders that pay best.
- Check Your Orders after players fill an order. Their items wait there until you redeem them.
- Deactivate an order you no longer need to get the unfilled escrow back.
