The Overgrown Crypt has two kinds of boss fight: mini-bosses, which guard a level and hold its gate shut, and the final boss, the Bandit Warrior, which waits behind the boss door in the flooded sewer arena.
Mini-bosses#
A mini-boss spawns when its level starts, with a red boss bar, and the party is told "A mini boss guards this level". It holds the level until it is beaten. Defeating one gives the party +150 score and 1 key, and pays 40 Sewer Shards to every party member who has dealt damage during the run.
| Mini-boss | Entity | Health | Damage | Armor | Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gravewarden | Wither skeleton | 320 | 16 | 12 | Gravewarden |
| Bog Shaman | Zombie | 220 | 9 | 6 | Bog Shaman |
The final boss#
The boss door never opens by itself. Clear the last level, or spend 1 key, then click the door when the party is ready ("The way to the arena opens - brace yourselves!"). The boss bar appears with the boss's name, and every player sees "Bandit Warrior awakens - defeat it to conquer the dungeon!".
| Boss | Entity | Health | Damage | Armor | Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bandit Warrior | Vindicator | 250 | 30 | 30 | Bandit Warrior |
The arena is a flooded sewer fight with its own phases: sealing breached pipes, surviving the rising water, the boss's enrage and breaking the rock over the drain. The run is complete only when the boss is dead and the arena has drained. No extra mobs spawn with the boss; the arena's pipes and flood bring them. The full walkthrough is in the arena fight.
Difficulty and bosses#
- The difficulty's damage multiplier applies to the boss and the mini-bosses. Their health is not multiplied. See Dungeon Difficulties.
- Killing any dungeon mob, including a boss, is worth +10 score. Mini-bosses add +150 and the final boss adds +300 on top. See Dungeon Scoring and Loot.
- Players who go down during a boss fight can still be revived. See Reviving and Second Wind.
