The Bog Shaman is a mini-boss of the Overgrown Crypt. It hits lightly but never stops casting: it poisons its target, heals the mobs around it and calls rats from the sewers.
Stats#
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Entity | Zombie |
| Health | 220 (not scaled by difficulty) |
| Damage | 9 (multiplied by the difficulty's damage setting) |
| Armor | 6 |
| Movement speed | 0.26 |
| Knockback resistance | 50% |
| Follow range | 40 blocks |

Abilities#
All of its abilities run on a timer.
| Ability | How often | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Poison | Every 3 seconds | Poisons the player it is fighting if they are within 14 blocks, for 4 seconds |
| Mend | Every 5 seconds | Heals every mob within 8 blocks of it by 12 health |
| Call the rats | Every 15 seconds | Summons 2 Sewer Rats around itself |
It cackles like a witch when it spawns.
Strategy#
- Its poison only reaches a target within 14 blocks, and its healing reaches mobs within 8 blocks of it.
- Kill the Sewer Rats it summons and the mobs standing next to it first, otherwise it heals them back up.
- Its health is lower than the Gravewarden's, but its steady healing of other mobs rewards fast, focused damage.
Rewards#
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Party key | 1 |
| Party score | +150, on top of the +10 kill |
| Sewer Shards | 40 to each party member who has dealt damage during the run |
Defeating the mini-boss also opens the way on, because it is the objective of its level. See Dungeon Run Mechanics.
