Bush Trimmer

Bush Trimmer is a Common enchant for Shears. When you cut a leaf block with enchanted shears it can roll to clear the whole bush around it in one go.

How to get it#

Bush Trimmer comes from the Common rune, which costs 10,000 XP in the enchant shop. Prison's Common rune holds seven enchants and each is equally likely, so a given rune gives Bush Trimmer 1 time in 7. The rune turns into an enchanted book with a random level from I to IV (every level equally likely in Prison), which you apply to shears.

Effect#

1. You break a leaf block with shears that carry Bush Trimmer in your main hand. Every kind of leaves counts. The break must be a normal one, not a block that another enchant broke for you.
2. The game rolls the chance for the shears' level. There is no base chance, only the 25% per level.
3. On success, one tick later every leaf block connected to the one you cut is broken, up to 75 blocks. Leaves count as connected when they touch on a side or diagonally on the same layer, and the blocks closest to the first one go first. A rustling leaves sound plays.
4. The extra leaves break as if you had cut them yourself: they follow the same build protection as any other block you break, and they cost your shears no extra durability.

Only leaves are cleared. Logs, stems and other plants stay in place, and a mass of leaves larger than 75 blocks is only partly cleared. Leaves cleared by Bush Trimmer never trigger it again.

Notes and tips#

• Prison's mines contain no leaves, and mine blocks are mined through the mine system instead of normal block breaking, so Bush Trimmer only works on leaves outside the mines. See Mines.
• The other tool enchants are listed on Prison Tool Enchants. Tree Feller does the same job for logs.
