Rebirth

Rebirth restarts the whole Prison ladder at maximum prestige and rank for a token fee, in return for permanent multipliers, Rebirth Crate Keys and higher enchant maximums.

Rebirth is the final stage of Prison progression. A player who has reached the top of the prestige ladder and the maximum rank pays a token fee to start the whole climb again. A rebirth wipes your progress but gives you permanent income multipliers that grow with every rebirth, Rebirth Crate Keys, and higher maximum levels for your pickaxe enchants. Everything you buy afterwards costs more, so the multipliers are what make the next run possible.

Requirements#

Rebirth needs all of the following at the same time. /rebirth lists each one with a tick when you meet it and a cross when you do not.

RequirementValue
Prestige100, the top of the prestige ladder
Rank10,000, the maximum rank
Blocks mined this life50,000 for your first rebirth, then 50,000 more for each rebirth after it (rebirth 2 needs 100,000, rebirth 3 needs 150,000, and so on)
Token fee1,000,000,000 tokens for your first rebirth, multiplied by 1.55 for each rebirth you already have

The block count only increases when you break a block yourself. Blocks broken by enchants, mine bombs, grenades or your mining robot do not count. The counter starts again from zero at each rebirth ("blocks mined this life"), and your progress is saved about every 30 seconds.

A Mined Blocks item adds a stated number of blocks to this counter when you right-click it. See Mined Blocks.

How to rebirth#

  1. Meet the requirements above and hold enough tokens for the fee.
  2. Run /rebirth. If you are short, the game lists every requirement with your current value against the required one.
  3. A Confirm rebirth menu opens: "Rebirth for (fee)? Your rank, prestige, money, tokens, backpack and pickaxe are reset!". It lists what resets, what you keep, what you get and your mined-block progress.
  4. Click REBIRTH to confirm, or Cancel.

On success you see "You have been reborn! You are now rebirth (N)!" and the rewards are paid immediately. If the fee cannot be paid the game says "You need (cost) to rebirth ((amount) missing)!".

What resets and what you keep#

ResetsKeeps
Prestige, back to 0Beacons
Rank, back to 1Your rebirth count and its multipliers

Your backpack: contents, capacity and autosell upgrades
Your mining robot: upgrades, enchants and stored items

What a rebirth gives you#

Permanent multipliers#

Each rebirth permanently multiplies your earnings. The bonuses compound, so after n rebirths:

  • money received from selling blocks is multiplied by 1.5 to the power n,
  • tokens earned per block are multiplied by 1.5 to the power n,
  • beacons found get a bonus of 2 to the power n, which is added together with your other beacon bonuses rather than multiplying them.

The money and token multipliers stack with the prestige multiplier, boosters and other bonuses. See Income Multipliers. Prestige multipliers reset when you rebirth because prestige resets, but the rebirth multipliers stay.

Rebirth Crate Keys#

Your n-th rebirth pays n Rebirth Crate Keys, up to 10 keys per rebirth from your tenth rebirth onward. Open them anywhere or at the crates warp. See Prison Crates.

Higher enchant maximums#

Several pickaxe enchants have a maximum level that rises with every rebirth. Fortune, Token Finder and Treasure Finder gain 75, 75 and 50 maximum levels per rebirth, Token Rush gains 30, Beacon Rush gains 20, Supernova, Nuke, Blackhole and Solar Beam each gain 10, and Double Slicer and Double Layer gain 1. See Pickaxe Enchant Caps for every enchant and the level you can reach at each rebirth.

Leaderboard#

Rebirths decide the order of the mine leaderboard first, ahead of prestige and rank. See Prison Leaderboards.

Costs after a rebirth#

Every rebirth multiplies the cost of these by 1.55, and the multiplier compounds:

  • every rankup (Rankup Costs),
  • every prestige fee (Prestige),
  • backpack capacity upgrades,
  • pickaxe enchant purchases,
  • mining robot upgrades,
  • the rebirth token fee itself.

Your chat badge gains an "R" and your rebirth count in purple after your first rebirth.

The rebirth ladder#

Figures are the fee, the requirement and the rewards for each rebirth in turn. The multipliers are the totals you hold after completing that rebirth.

Rebirth Skip#

A Rebirth Skip item completes up to 10 rebirths with no fee and no requirements, and still resets everything a normal rebirth does. See Skip Items.

Tips#

  • Check /rebirth early. The mined-block requirement is the slowest part, because only blocks you break yourself count, so keep mining by hand while you save tokens.
  • Beacons are never wiped, so beacon income carries over every rebirth, and the beacon multiplier doubles with each one.
  • Because tokens are wiped, spend tokens on enchants while you are climbing, and keep only the fee at the end.
