Mine Bombs and Grenades

Mine Bombs and Grenades are throwable items that blast a sphere of blocks in your mine and pay out exactly as if you had mined them yourself.

Mine Bombs and Grenades are one-use items that clear a ball of blocks in your mine with a single throw. Both are thrown with a right-click inside a personal mine. Anywhere else, including the shared prestige mines, nothing happens and the item is kept. In another player's mine where you are not allowed to mine, the item is still thrown and used up but breaks nothing.

The radius is fixed on each item when it is created, so two Mine Bombs can have different radii.

What they break and pay#

When a bomb or grenade goes off, every mine block inside the sphere is broken. Nothing outside the mine is affected, and neither item damages players, terrain or entities.

The blocks pay as if you broke them: tokens go to your balance, and the drops go to your backpack. Your token bonuses, boosters, prestige and rebirth multipliers all apply, and so do Fortune and Token Finder. Blasts do not trigger your other pickaxe enchants. Blocks broken this way do not count toward the blocks-mined total that rebirth requires, or toward the block leaderboard, which count only blocks you break yourself.

Beacon blocks inside the blast are broken and pay beacons.

Where they drop#

Both items are crate rewards. The radius and amount are fixed per reward.

SourceMine BombGrenade
Prestige rewards4 bombs, radius 158 grenades, radius 10
Rebirth rewards8 bombs, radius 2516 grenades, radius 15
Chat-game rewards1 bomb, radius 50

Limited-time crates have also offered them, with radii from 10 to 50 blocks; those rewards rotate. See Prison Crates for the odds.

Tips#

  • A bigger radius clears far more blocks than a smaller one, but a sphere stops at the edge of your mine. Throw it near the middle of a fresh mine.
  • A bomb breaks blocks the instant it lands, while a grenade waits two seconds, so grenades can be thrown at your feet and bombs at a distant face.
