The Crypt Egg hatches one Overgrown Crypt minion. The key reads "A minion from the Overgrown Crypt hatches from this egg." Place the key on the ground and the egg hatches into a level 1 minion voucher that you add to your minion collection.
Hatching#
The Crypt Egg can be opened anywhere: hold the key and right-click a block, and the egg appears where you click. A single key plays the Hatching animation: the egg appears, plays its hatch animation with particles spewing out and bursts, leaving your reward standing where it broke. Bedrock players see a menu spin instead, with the same result. Hold Shift while you right-click to hatch up to 64 keys at once without the animation. See Prison Crates for the full opening rules.
An egg that stands on a crate block as a display is a showcase only: right-clicking it shows the preview instead of using a key. The egg has no guaranteed rewards or milestones. Chat announces "(player) is hatching a Crypt Egg" and "(player) hatched (minion) from a Crypt Egg!". Bulk hatchings are not announced.
What it can hatch#
One minion per key. The chances add up to 100%.
| Minion | Rarity | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Sewer Rat | Common | 45% |
| Crypt Hound | Uncommon | 28% |
| Sewer Hag | Rare | 15% |
| Wraith | Epic | 8% |
| Necromancer | Legendary | 3% |
| Sewer Warden | Mythic | 1% |
The egg's lore lists the 1% minion as "The Warden"; the minion it hatches is the Sewer Warden.
The minion arrives as a Lv. 1 voucher item, a player head named after the minion. Right-click it to add the minion to your collection, and open /minions to equip it. If your inventory is full, the voucher goes to your overflow like any other reward. See Minions for what each minion does and how they level up.
