Crates are the main loot system on Netherite. You spend a key to open a crate and receive random rewards such as money, boosters, spawners, enchanted gear, cosmetics and skins. Crates are available on Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival. The hub has no crates.
The basics#
- Get a key. Keys are items. You earn them by voting, in events, from progress rewards and in the store. See Crate Keys.
- Go to a crate. Crate sites are at the crates warp (
/warp crates). Some crates, marked "Anywhere" in Crate Lists, can be opened with their key from any spot. - Preview. Left-click a crate to see every reward and its chance.
- Open. Right-click the crate while holding the key. See Opening Crates for animations, rerolls, bulk opening and milestones.
- Collect. Rewards go straight to your inventory. If it is full they go to your overflow backpack (Overflow Backpack).

Each gamemode has its own set of crates. Every crate with its rewards and chances is listed on Crate Lists, and each gamemode's crate page covers its crate site and highlights:
