Player vaults are extra storage that follows you around. Each vault is a private 54-slot page, like a double chest, that you can open from anywhere with /pv without having to walk back to a chest. Your vaults and their contents are saved to your account.
How many vaults you get#
Every player starts with no vaults. Vaults are granted by donor ranks and, once you own some, you can open vault pages up to that count. The game-wide maximum is 25 vaults.
These are the vault counts on each rank's in-game rank page (on Prison, the rank perks in the store).
| Gamemode | Ranks and vaults |
|---|---|
| Skyblock | Stone 1, Coal 1, Iron 1, Gold 2, Obsidian 3, Diamond 4, Emerald 6 |
| Survival | Axolotl 1, Allay 1, Glare 2, Illusioner 3, Hoglin 4, Strider 6 |
| Lifesteal | Lord 3, Overlord 4, Immortal 5, Wraith 7, Reaper 10 |
| Prison | Forager 1, Scout 1, Huntsman 3, Caveman 10 (the Nomad and Savage perks list no vaults) |
The network-wide Netherite rank lists 15 vaults on Skyblock, Survival and Lifesteal. See Donor Ranks for every rank perk.
Opening a vault#
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/pv | Opens Your vaults, a menu with one chest per vault you own. Click a chest to open that vault. |
/pv <number> | Opens that vault directly. /playervault works as well. |
Inside a vault you move items in and out like any chest. Closing the vault saves it.
- A vault can be open in only one place at a time. If it is already open, for example in another session of yours, you see "You already have a vault open" or "Failed to open vault. It may be open by someone else." Close the other one and try again.
- Vault contents are saved with your account, not with a server.
- When you open a vault from the Your vaults list, closing it takes you back to the list.
Vault showcase (Survival)#
Survival adds a showcase, a small display shelf that other players can look at.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/showcase | Opens your own showcase so you can place items in it. |
/showcase <player> | Shows another player's showcase in a read-only window. |
How many showcase slots you have depends on your rank. The rank pages list Axolotl 7, Allay 9, Glare 12, Illusioner 14, Hoglin 16 and Strider 18 slots. With no slots, /showcase answers "You do not have a showcase." and looking at another player without one answers "<name> does not have a showcase."
Sharing a vault in chat#
If your rank allows chat showcases, you can type a vault placeholder in chat, from [pv1] up to [pv15], to post a clickable link to that vault. Other players can click it to see a snapshot of the vault. The snapshot is taken when you post it and expires after 30 minutes; after that the link answers "That vault snapshot has already expired." Only your own vault numbers work.
Differences by gamemode#
| Feature | Skyblock | Prison | Lifesteal | Survival |
|---|---|---|---|---|
/pv vaults | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Size per vault | 54 slots | 54 slots | 54 slots | 54 slots |
| Maximum vaults | 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 |
/showcase | No | No | No | Yes |
Tips#
- Use vaults for stock you take between islands, mines or bases. They are available from any location in the gamemode.
- Give each vault a purpose, such as one for tools and one for building blocks, so you can open it by number with
/pv <number>. - Move valuables out of your inventory and into a vault before risky activities, then fetch them with
/pv <number>.
