Punishments are the actions staff take when someone breaks the rules (Server Rules). They apply to your account on the whole network at once: a ban from Skyblock is a ban from Prison, Lifesteal, Survival and the hub too. This page explains each type, how long they last and what you can do about one.
Punishment types#
| Type | What happens to you | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | A title "You have been warned!" with the reason, a sound, and a chat line "You have been warned for ...". You can keep playing. | One-off |
| Kick | You are disconnected with "You have been kicked for ...". You can rejoin straight away. | One-off |
| Mute | You cannot send public chat or private messages. | Timed or permanent |
| Ban | You cannot log in. | Timed or permanent |
| Blacklist | You cannot log in, ever. Blacklists are network-wide and permanent. | Permanent |
Mutes#
While you are muted:
- Your public chat messages are not sent. You see "You are currently muted for REASON. Time remaining: TIME." and the appeal address.
- You cannot send private messages either; the game shows the same "You are currently muted for REASON" message. See Private Messaging.
- You can still use commands and play normally.
Bans and blacklists#
When you try to join while banned, the login screen shows "You have been banned for REASON. Time remaining: TIME." with the appeal address. A blacklist shows "You have been blacklisted for REASON. Blacklists are network-wide and permanent." plus the appeal address.
Shared connections#
Punishments are matched to the IP address as well as the account. If someone on your connection is punished, you may see "Your IP has been banned for REASON. The ban was assigned to PLAYER" or "Your IP address is currently muted ..." on a different account. If that happens and you did nothing wrong, appeal it (Punishment Appeals) and say that you share a connection.
How long a punishment lasts#
Lengths are measured in days, hours, minutes and seconds, or are permanent. The remaining time is shown whenever you run into the punishment. A timed punishment ends on its own when the time runs out. A staff member can also remove one early if an appeal is accepted.
Repeat offences escalate#
Each reason has a ladder of steps. Your offence number for a reason is how many earlier, unpardoned punishments you have for that same reason. The first time you get the first step, the second time the second step, and so on. When the ladder runs out, the last step repeats. A punishment that was pardoned does not count towards your offence number.
Staff can also issue a custom length for a serious case, so the ladders below are the standard ones.

- Sign in to the website and open the appeal page. Only active bans, mutes and blacklists can be appealed. See Punishment Appeals.
