Website notifications are short alerts that Netherite stores for you when something you care about happens: a ticket reply, an appeal decision, an offer on one of your cosmetics, a private message that arrived while you were offline. You read them in the bell in the top bar and, depending on your settings, you also receive them in game chat or as a Discord direct message.
The notification bell#
The bell appears in the top bar, left of the Buy Gems button, once you are signed in (Signing In to the Website).
- A badge on the bell counts your unread notifications (it shows
9+above nine). The count refreshes every 60 seconds. - Click the bell to open the list of your 20 most recent notifications, read and unread. Each row shows a title, the message, how long ago it happened and a highlighted dot while it is unread. Links inside a message are clickable.
- Click the check mark on a row to Mark as read, or Read all at the top to clear every unread notification at once.
- The header shows the unread count, or "You're all caught up" when nothing is unread. An empty list says "No notifications yet."
- Notification settings at the bottom opens Account Settings.
The avatar in the top bar carries a second badge: your number of unread private messages (Friends and Messages on the Website). It is separate from the bell.
Categories and channels#
Every notification belongs to one category and can be delivered through up to three channels.
| Category | Typical events |
|---|---|
| Marketplace | Watchlist price matches, offers received or accepted on your cosmetics, auction house sales. |
| Account | Ticket updates, appeal status and review messages, staff application updates, store notices. |
| Social | Private messages received while you are offline, suggestion updates, and Skyblock island applications (a new applicant, accepted, declined, closed). |
| Marketing | Reserved for promotional alerts; off by default. |
| Channel | What you get |
|---|---|
| Website | The entry in the bell. |
| In-game | A coloured line in chat while you are online. |
| Discord direct message | A DM from the Netherite bot. Needs a linked Discord account (Account Settings). |
All channels are on by default for every category except Marketing. Email is not used for notifications; the marketing email list is a separate subscription.
What you can switch off#
Account Settings shows three switches, all for the Marketplace category: web, in-game and Discord. There are no switches for the Account or Social categories on the website: you always receive ticket, appeal and application alerts in the bell.
Marketplace notifications#
| Event | You are told |
|---|---|
| A new listing meets an alert price on one of your wishlist entries | "Watchlist match" (entries added from the website have no alert price, so they do not trigger it) |
| Someone makes a direct offer on a cosmetic you own | "Unlisted offer received" |
| The owner accepts your direct offer | "Unlisted offer accepted" |
| One of your auction house listings sells | "Auction sold: Your auction listing sold for ..." with the price |
See Direct Offers on Unlisted Cosmetics, Your Collection, Loadouts and Wishlist (wishlist) and Auction House for the features behind them.
Messages while offline#
When another player writes to you and you are offline, the site sends one notification titled New message from the sender's name, with a preview of the message and a reminder to reply on the Messages page. A second message from the same conversation within 15 minutes does not send another, so a long chat produces a single alert.
Tips#
- Link Discord if you sell cosmetics: a DM reaches you while you are away from the website.
- If the bell never updates, check you are signed in as the player you expect; website sessions last 7 days.
