The Loan Marketplace lets players lend and borrow gems with cosmetics as security. A borrower locks up one or more cosmetics, names an amount, an interest rate and a duration, and waits for a lender to fund it. If the borrower repays, the cosmetics come back and the lender earns interest. If the borrower cannot repay by the due date, the lender keeps the cosmetics.
Find it under Marketplace > Loans. Browsing is open to everyone; creating, cancelling, funding and repaying need a signed-in account (Signing In to the Website) that is not under an active ban or blacklist. A restricted account sees a "Your account is restricted from trading" banner across the section and can only browse.

The same loan market is open in game with /loans, which opens the list of open proposals. Its subcommands create, myproposals, myloans, investments and creditscore open the matching menus. Loans, balances and credit scores are shared between the website and the game.
How a loan works#
- Proposal. A borrower creates a proposal. Their chosen cosmetics are removed from their collection and held as collateral straight away. The proposal is open for 1 day.
- Funding. A lender funds the proposal. The lender pays the full requested amount. The borrower receives that amount minus a 1% server fee and the clock starts.
- Repayment. The borrower can repay in full at any time with Repay Now. Interest depends on how much of the term has passed.
- Settlement. On repayment the cosmetics return to the borrower and the lender receives principal plus interest. Repayment is always in full; there are no partial payments. If the due date passes, the system tries to repay automatically from the borrower's balance; if the borrower cannot cover it, the loan defaults and the cosmetics move to the lender.
Statuses#
| Item | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Proposal | PENDING | Open, waiting for a lender |
| Proposal | ACCEPTED | A lender funded it and it became a loan |
| Proposal | CANCELLED | The borrower withdrew it; cosmetics returned |
| Proposal | EXPIRED | Nobody funded it within 1 day; cosmetics returned |
| Loan | ACTIVE | Running; shows time remaining, or OVERDUE to the borrower once past due |
| Loan | REPAID | Paid in full |
| Loan | DEFAULTED | Not repaid; collateral went to the lender |
A lender sees a loan past its due date as AWAITING DEFAULT until the automatic check settles it, which runs every minute.

How interest is charged#
Interest is not a flat amount. When the borrower repays, the interest is:
loan amount x interest rate x the larger of (share of the term that has passed) and 10%
rounded up to a whole gem. Repaying on day 3.5 of a 7-day loan costs half of the full-term interest; repaying on the due date costs all of it; repaying straight away costs the 10% minimum.
Worked example for a 1,000 gem loan at 10% for 7 days:
| Event | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lender pays | 1,000 gems |
| Server fee (1%) | 10 gems, taken from the borrower's side |
| Borrower receives | 990 gems |
| Repay immediately | 1,000 + 10 (the 10% minimum of the 100 full-term interest) = 1,010 gems |
| Repay at the half-way point | 1,000 + 50 = 1,050 gems |
| Repay on the due date | 1,000 + 100 = 1,100 gems |
The lender receives whatever the borrower pays; the server fee is not taken from the lender.
Credit score#
Every player with a repaid or defaulted loan has a credit score, shown as a percentage on their profile's Trading tab (Player Profiles) and on each of their proposals. It is the total amount of loans they repaid divided by the total amount they repaid plus defaulted, rounded down to a whole percent, so a large default hurts more than a small one. Loans still running do not count. A player without a finished loan has no score: their proposals show a New badge ("No loan history") and their profile shows no Credit Score card. Tiers on the lender's portfolio view are 70 to 100 (strong), 40 to 70 (mid-tier), 0 to 40 (high risk) and no history.
Announcements#
New proposals, funded loans, repayments and defaults are announced to players online in game chat and in the community Discord, with the names involved and the amount (for a default, the number of cosmetics transferred). There is no personal notification to the borrower or the lender, so check My Loans and My Investments yourself.
