Mystery Dust is a consumable that raises the success rate of an enchanted book. It shows as Redstone Dust and carries a boost between 1% and 20%, written on the item.
How to get it#
Buy it in the enchant shop for XP. Every piece you buy rolls its own boost between 1% and 20% (whole percentages, all equally likely).
| Mode | Price per piece |
|---|---|
| Skyblock | 4,000 XP |
| Prison | 10,000 XP |
| Lifesteal | 1,000 XP |
| Survival | 10,000 XP |
How to use it#
- Open your own inventory.
- Pick up the dust with your cursor and click an enchanted book that still has a success rate below 100%.
- One piece of dust is used up and the book's success rate rises by the dust's boost.
The boost is added to the book's current rate, for example a 35% book with a 12% dust becomes 47%. You can apply several pieces to the same book. When the rate reaches 100% or more, the book loses its success rate and always succeeds.
Dust cannot be used on a book that already always succeeds (including books that came without a success rate and books made guaranteed by a Golden Scroll); the game says "Mystery dust cannot be applied to this book! It is already at max success chance." and nothing is used up.
Notes#
- The dust is made from redstone but cannot be placed as redstone; trying to place it does nothing.
- The boost is fixed when the dust is created. A 1% dust will always be a 1% dust.
- Books from runes have a random success rate between 1% and 100%, so dust matters most on low rolls.
