Money

Money is the main currency of each gamemode, used to pay other players, buy from shops and the auction house, and rank on the richest-players board.

Money (shown as $) is the everyday currency of every Netherite gamemode. You earn it by selling items, completing jobs and quests and playing the gamemode's core loop, and you spend it in the shop, the auction house, chest shops and on other players.

Money is separate in every gamemode#

Each gamemode keeps its own money balance. Skyblock money, Survival money, Lifesteal money and Prison money are four different balances, and nothing converts one into another. Moving to a different gamemode never carries your balance with you.

Gems are the exception: they are one network-wide balance that you can spend in every gamemode. Everything else, including money, stays inside the gamemode where you earned it. The full list is on Currencies.

Commands#

CommandAliasesWhat it does
/balance [player]/balShows your balance, or another player's balance when you name them (checking others may not be allowed on every rank). The amount is shown in full, without k/M suffixes.
/pay <player> <amount>noneSends money from your balance to another player.
/paytoggle/togglepay, /togglepaymentsSwitches whether other players may pay you. The same switch is available in your settings menu.
/baltop [page]noneShows the richest-players board.
/transactions/transactionhistoryOpens your recent balance changes as a menu.
/withdraw <amount>noneTurns money into a physical money note (see Money Notes). Not available on Prison.

Entering amounts#

Amounts accept thousands separators and these suffixes, in either letter case:

SuffixValue
kthousand
mmillion
bbillion
ttrillion
qquadrillion

For example /pay Steve 2.5m sends $2,500,000. Money has two decimal places, so $0.25 is a valid amount. Large amounts shown in menus and messages are shortened with the same suffixes once they reach one million, for example $2.5M.

Paying other players#

/pay <player> <amount> moves money instantly and there is no tax or fee on the transfer.

  1. Run the command with the recipient and an amount.
  2. A Confirm Payment menu opens. It asks whether you want to send the amount to that player. Click Confirm to send or Cancel to abort. Every payment goes through this menu.
  3. You get a confirmation message and the recipient is notified in chat.

A payment is refused when:

  • you try to pay yourself;
  • the amount is zero, negative or not a valid number;
  • you do not have enough money;
  • the recipient has turned off payments with /paytoggle.

The recipient does not have to be online. If you want to stop receiving unsolicited payments, turn payments off. Your own payments are not affected by your toggle.

The richest-players board#

/baltop [page] lists players by balance, ten per page. The board is rebuilt every 30 seconds, so a payment can take up to half a minute to show up.

Asking for a page that does not exist tells you how many pages there are. If the board has not finished loading after a restart you are asked to try again shortly.

Transaction history#

/transactions shows every change to your balance from the last 31 days, newest first, 28 entries per page. Each entry shows what happened, the amount (green for money received, red for money spent) and how long ago it happened.

Anything not in the table is shown with a readable version of its internal name. You can only open your own history.

Money on the hub#

The hub runs the same economy commands (/balance, /pay, /baltop, /transactions) and has its own balance, but it has no shop, auction house, trading or vaults, so there is little to spend money on there.

Tips#

  • Turn /paytoggle off when you are not trading and want to avoid payment spam.
  • Use trading instead of /pay when you are swapping items for money, so both sides see what they are getting.
  • Check /transactions first when a balance looks wrong: it lists every change with a time and a reason.
