Site Search and Player Search

Press Ctrl K, Cmd K or slash to search website pages, settings, players, information articles, wiki pages, store items, changelog entries and suggestions, or use the Player Search page.

Site search is the quick-find box built into every page of the Netherite website. It finds website pages, account settings, players, information articles, pages of this wiki, store items, changelog entries, suggestions and your own tickets. A separate Player Search page looks up a player by name and shows the top cosmetic collectors.

  • Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on a Mac) on any page. Press it again to close.
  • Press / when you are not typing in a text box.
  • Click the magnifier button in the top bar on a tablet or computer (wide screens also show the shortcut, very wide screens the word "Search..."). On a phone use Search the site... at the top of the menu.

A "Search the site" window opens with a text box. On a phone it fills the screen.

Using it#

  1. Type what you are looking for. Queries are trimmed to 64 characters.
  2. With an empty box you see your Recent picks (up to 5, with Clear recent searches under them) and Quick links to How to join, Store, Support tickets, Appeal a ban and Account settings.
  3. Use the arrow keys to move through results and Enter to open one, or click it. Esc closes the window.

Results come in two kinds: a Go to list of site pages, settings, store and support entries (up to 8, each tagged with its group) and separate headings for live results. The groups are:

GroupWhat it finds
PagesEvery public page of the site: home, game mode pages, server addresses, the join guides for each edition, every leaderboard board, vote page, changelog, rules & guides, tutorials, this wiki and its command index, friends, messages, suggestions, staff team, survival map, island recruitment, network status, market prices, the marketplace and its sub-pages (including Find players), loans, sign in, privacy policy and terms.
SettingsCards of the account settings page such as Link Discord, Notification preferences, Email subscription, Privacy & blocked players and Custom rank prefix. Choosing one scrolls to and highlights that card.
StoreStore, Crates & keys, Buy gems, Global ranks, the Custom rank product and My orders.
SupportSupport tickets, Open a ticket, Appeal a ban, staff applications, Apply for staff and Known issues.
PlayersPlayers whose name matches what you typed.
Information, Wiki, Store items, Changelog, SuggestionsInformation articles, pages of this wiki, store products, changelog entries and suggestions that match.
My ticketsYour own recent tickets, only when you are signed in.

Live results (players, information, wiki, store items, changelog, suggestions, tickets) start once you have typed at least 2 characters and show at most 5 per group, each with a See all in ... link where a full list exists. If a source is slow or fails, the window shows the other groups without it instead of waiting.

Entries you cannot use yet#

  • A page that needs an account shows a Sign in hint. Choosing it takes you to the sign-in page (Signing In to the Website).
  • The Custom rank prefix setting is shown with "Requires the Custom rank" if you do not hold that rank, and choosing it opens the rank in the store. See Account Settings.

What is remembered#

The browser remembers your last picks from public results only. Your own tickets and any private results are never stored in the recent list. Clear recent searches, or clearing the site data in your browser, empties it.

Player Search page#

The Player Search page is found by typing "Find players" into the site search (it is listed under Pages), or with See all in Players under live player results.

  1. Type the player's exact Minecraft username in the box ("Enter username").
  2. Click Search. The name must be 3 to 16 characters: letters, numbers, _ and ..
  3. You are taken to that player's profile (Player Profiles).
MessageMeaning
Invalid usernameNot 3 to 16 allowed characters.
Player not foundNo player has that exact name.

Below the box, Top Collectors shows the eight players who own the most cosmetics, with a preview of their collections. Each links to that profile. If none can be shown the page says "No Featured Players".

Find a player on the home page#

The Find a player box on the home page (Home Page and Site Navigation) suggests names as you type: after two characters, up to 6 matching names drop down. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click a name. You can also type the exact name and click Search.

MessageMeaning
Invalid username formatNot 3 to 16 allowed characters.
Player not foundNo player has that exact name.
Failed to search playerTry again.

An exact-name lookup also appears on the leaderboards page (Website Leaderboards), on the comparison page (Comparing Players) and in the Search tab of the friends page (Friends and Messages on the Website).
