The auction house is the player market. You can sell an item at a fixed price that anyone can buy instantly, or start a timed auction where players bid. Everything you list is held safely until it sells or you take it back. The auction house runs on Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival, and each gamemode has its own listings.
Commands#
All commands start with /ah (the full name is /auctionhouse).
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/ah | Opens the auction house and its listings. |
/ah search <term> | Opens the listings filtered by an item name. |
/ah sell [currency] [price] | Lists the item in your main hand at a fixed price. |
/ah auction [currency] [price] | Starts a timed auction for the item in your main hand, with the price as the starting bid. |
/ah myauctions | Opens My Listings: everything you have listed. |
/ah viewplayer <player> | Shows another player's listings. |
/ah won | Opens the items you have won or bought but not yet received. |
/ah expired | Opens your expired, unsold items. |
/ah history | Opens your auction transaction history. |
Leave out the currency and price and the game asks you for both in a prompt.
Currencies#
| Gamemode | Listing currencies |
|---|---|
| Skyblock | Money, Gems |
| Lifesteal | Money, Gems |
| Survival | Money, Gems |
| Prison | Tokens, Gems |
Each listing is priced in one currency. See Currencies.
Selling at a fixed price#
- Hold the item or stack you want to sell in your main hand.
- Run
/ah sell money 5000, or just/ah selland fill in the prompt. - A Confirm listing menu shows the price, the fee, You will receive (the price minus the fee) and the minimum sale. Click Confirm Listing.
The whole stack in your hand is listed together as one lot, and its price is for the whole lot. A fixed-price listing stays up for 1 day. If nobody buys it, it moves to your Expired Items.
Rules#
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Minimum price | The price must be more than 1. A lower price is refused with "Minimum auction price is 2." |
| Price limits | A price that is not a positive number or is too high is refused. |
| Listing limit | You can have a limited number of active listings, see Limits below. |
| Held item | You must be holding an item ("You are not holding any items"). |
| Blocked items | Bedrock and the Prison pickaxe cannot be sold. Some decorative heads are blocked on Survival. |
| Money notes | Money notes cannot be listed on Prison. See Money Notes. |
| Speed | Listing too quickly shows "Slow down". |
The listing fee#
The fee is a percentage of the price, rounded up, and it is taken when the item sells, so you pay nothing if it never sells.
| Gamemode | Listing fee |
|---|---|
| Skyblock | 3% |
| Lifesteal | 1% |
| Survival | 1% |
| Prison | 1% |
VIP members do not pay the fee, and the confirm menu then shows "Fee: Waived".
Auctions and bidding#
An auction lets players bid, and the highest bid when the timer ends wins.
- Hold the item and run
/ah auction <currency> <starting bid>. - In the List Auction menu click Duration to cycle through 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours and 1 day, then click Start Auction.
Auctions are marked in the listings and show the current bid and the time left. To bid, click an auction, click Place Bid, type your bid in the prompt and click Confirm Bid.
- A bid must be higher than the current bid, and the first bid higher than the starting bid. "Your bid must be higher than ..." is shown when it is not.
- Your bid is held immediately. The amount leaves your balance as soon as you confirm and is held until you are outbid or the auction ends.
- Being outbid refunds you. When someone bids higher, your held amount is returned and you are notified that you were outbid.
- You cannot bid on your own auction or use a different currency from the listing.
- When the timer ends the highest bidder wins (ended auctions are settled within about a minute). The seller is paid the winning bid minus the fee, and the winner collects the item from
/ah won. An auction with no bids returns the item to the seller's Expired Items. - A seller can cancel an auction from My Listings. The item returns to the seller and any held bid is refunded to the bidder.
A listing that is a fixed-price sale cannot be bid on, and an auction cannot be bought outright: "This listing is an auction — place a bid instead."
Buying#
Open /ah, click a listing and click Confirm Purchase in the confirmation window. The item goes to your inventory.
- If you cannot afford it you see how much you need ("You need ... to buy this item").
- You cannot buy your own listing.
- If the purchase cannot be confirmed in time, it says "Your purchase could not be confirmed. If you were charged, the item is waiting in /ah won."
- Containers such as shulker boxes have a preview button so you can look inside before you buy.
When your item sells, you get a message with the buyer and the price. Sales paid in gems are also announced to other players in chat.
The listings menu#
The main menu has these buttons along its top row:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search | Filter by item name. Click again to change or clear it. |
| Category | Cycle through All, Blocks, Weapons, Armor, Tools and Other. |
| Sort | Cycle through Newest, Price (low to high), Price (high to low) and Expiring soon. |
| Currency | Cycle through All and the currencies of the gamemode. |
| Expired Items | Opens your expired, unsold items. |
| My Auctions | Opens your own listings. |
Sorting by price needs a single currency, so the menu switches to one when you pick a price sort.
My Listings, Expired Items and Won Items#
- My Listings shows everything you have for sale. Click a listing to take it down and get the item back ("You have successfully removed ... from the auction house"). It also has buttons for Expired Items and Transaction History.
- Expired Items holds items that did not sell. Click one to take it, or Claim All to take everything.
- Won Items holds auctions you won and purchases that could not be handed over straight away. Click an item or use Claim All.
If your inventory is full when you claim, you see "You do not have enough space in your inventory." Make room and claim again.
Transaction History#
Transaction History lists your sales and purchases. Click the filter button to cycle between All, Sold, Unsold (expired and removed listings) and Bought.

Tips#
- Check similar listings with Search and sort by price before you set yours.
- A sale paid in gems is announced to everyone on the gamemode.
- Use an auction for rare items you cannot price: the market sets the price for you.
- Claim your Expired Items regularly so unsold items do not sit unnoticed.
- Selling for money to many players? Consider a chest shop, which has no listing timer.
