Network FAQ

Network FAQ

Answers to the questions players ask most often about joining Netherite, switching gamemodes, accounts, voting, messaging, punishments and support.

What is the Netherite server address?#

Use connect.netherite.gg. Java Edition players leave the port blank. Bedrock players use port 19132. See Connecting to Netherite.

Is Netherite free?#

Yes. It is free to join and there is no whitelist. You only need a legitimate Minecraft account. Optional store purchases exist, but the gamemodes can be played without them.

Can Java and Bedrock players play together?#

Yes. Both editions join the same servers and see the same worlds. Bedrock players appear with a dot before their name, for example .PlayerName. See Joining on Bedrock Edition.

Which Minecraft version do I need?#

Java Edition 1.21.4 or newer. Older clients are refused with "Your client is outdated. We only support 1.21.4+". The network itself runs Minecraft 26.3. See Connection Troubleshooting.

Can I play on Xbox or PlayStation?#

Yes, through the free BedrockTogether phone app, which makes the server appear under LAN Games on your console. Keep the app open while you play. See Joining from Xbox or PlayStation.

What gamemodes does Netherite have?#

Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival. Each has its own world, economy and seasons. See Servers and Gamemodes.

How do I switch gamemodes?#

From the hub, open the Server Selector (nether star) and click a mode, or type /skyblock, /prison, /lifesteal or /survival. To return to the hub from anywhere, type /hub. See Switching Servers.

Is my progress shared between gamemodes?#

No. Inventory, progress and in-game money are kept separately for each gamemode. Your account, name, gems, private messages and punishments are shared across the network. See The Netherite Network.

Why am I in a lobby and cannot move or chat?#

A gamemode is restarting, so you are held in its lobby with the message "The server is rebooting". You are sent back automatically, and after 10 minutes at most you are sent to the mode's spawn. Type /hub to leave early. See Mode Lobbies.

Do I have to accept the resource pack?#

It is optional on Java, but custom items and menus look like vanilla without it, and the game reminds you until you load it. Bedrock players get it automatically. See Server Resource Pack.

Why does the game say my account is already connected?#

A session with your name is still active, for example after a crash or on a second device. The new login is refused. Close the other session or wait a minute and try again. See Connection Troubleshooting.

How do I sign in to the website?#

Sign in with your Microsoft account, or type /web login in game for an 8-digit one-time code. You must have joined the server at least once. See Signing In to the Website.

Type /link in game, then send the 6-character code to the Netherite bot on Discord with its /link command. You can also link from your account settings on the website. See Linking Your Discord Account.

How do I vote and what do I get?#

Vote on the 8 voting links on the website, then type /vote in a gamemode and claim your votes. Each claimed vote gives a Vote Key, and votes build streaks, spinner spins, milestones and a monthly leaderboard. Voting is not available in the hub. See Voting.

What is the captcha and how do I pass it?#

After long stretches of repetitive mining, mob killing or fishing, a map with a 4-character code appears in your hand. Type the code exactly as shown in chat. You have 10 attempts and 2 minutes. Bedrock players are skipped. See Captcha.

How do I message another player?#

Type /msg <player> <message> and reply with /r <message>. Messages work across all gamemodes and on the website, and offline players can read them later with /conversations. See Private Messaging.

Is there a friends list or a party system?#

Friends are managed on the website: when two players follow each other they become friends. There is no party command. To play together, use each gamemode's teams such as islands, gangs, clans or towns. See Friends and Following and Playing With Other Players.

How do I block someone who is bothering me?#

Type /block <player>. They can no longer send you private messages and their public chat is hidden from you. See Private Messaging.

How do I report a player?#

For chat abuse, type /chatreport <player> and pick the message and a reason. For cheating, scamming or griefing, open a ticket on the website. See Reporting Players.

I was muted or banned. What do I do?#

Read the reason and time shown on screen, then appeal an active ban, mute or blacklist on the website. See Punishments and Punishment Appeals.

How do I open a support ticket?#

Sign in to the website, open the Tickets page and click New ticket. You can have up to 5 tickets created per day. See Support Tickets.

Where are the rules?#

Type /rules in game for the link, or open the Guides and rules page on the website. The website and Discord versions are authoritative. See Server Rules.

How do I contact staff?#

Use a ticket for private matters, /discord for the Discord invite, and the website for suggestions and staff applications. See Contacting Staff.
