Staff applications are how players apply to join the Netherite staff team. You pick the area you want to help in, answer the team's questions, and follow the review from your application page, where staff can ask you follow-up questions. The people who already hold these roles are listed on The Staff Team Page.
Open Support > Apply, headed Staff applications ("Requirements, applications, and reviews."). The page has two tabs, My Applications and Apply. You must be signed in (Signing In to the Website); a signed-out visitor sees a Sign in required panel. Whether applications are open, which areas you can choose from, the questions and the requirements are all set by the staff team and can change; the page always shows the current version.
The applications page#
The page shows, in order:
-
An Apply now button at the top. When you cannot apply, the button is disabled and a message says why:
Message Meaning Staff applications are currently closed. The team is not recruiting You already have an active application. Only one application can be open at a time; a link takes you to it You applied recently. You can apply again on (date). A cooldown set by the team runs from the day you submitted your last application, whatever its outcome You cannot apply right now. Any other reason -
Requirements: a checklist headed "You must meet all of these before applying."
-
Any notices from the team.
-
Active application: your application that is being reviewed, if any.
-
Past applications: decided or withdrawn ones.
-
Community feedback: other players' active applications that you can comment on, when the team has turned this on (below).
Apply#
- Click Apply now or the Apply tab. The form is headed Apply for Staff. Signed-out visitors see "Log in to apply".
- If your Discord is not linked, the page says Link your Discord first: "Staff applications require a linked Discord account so we can reach you about your application." Use the link to Link Discord in account settings (Account Settings), then come back.
- Under Which category are you applying for? choose a category. Its questions then appear below.
- Answer every question honestly and with as much detail as you can. Required questions carry
*; each shows its minimum or maximum length. Free-text answers are at most 4,000 characters; some questions are multiple choice. - Read the Requirements list again, tick "I confirm that I meet all of the requirements above and that my answers are truthful.", and click Submit application.
- The site says "Application submitted. Good luck!" and opens your application.
An application can also be denied automatically the moment it is sent. The site then says only "Application submitted", and the application shows as Denied with the reason "Failed automated verification checks".
You cannot apply while you have an active ban, blacklist or mute: submitting then fails with "You cannot apply while you have an active punishment on your account."
Statuses#
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Submitted, waiting for a reviewer |
| Under review | A reviewer is assessing it |
| Awaiting response | Staff asked you something; reply to continue |
| Accepted | You are in: "Congratulations! Your application was accepted" |
| Denied | Not accepted; the reason, when given, is shown; you may apply again once the cooldown ends |
| Withdrawn | You closed it yourself |
Your application page shows a timeline (Submitted, Under review, then the decision), Your answers, and the conversation with staff. Staff replies appear as Netherite Staff. When staff need more information the page highlights "Staff requested more information. Check the conversation below and reply to continue your application." Your reply moves it back to Under review. Status changes, staff replies and information requests also reach you as Account notifications: in the bell, in game chat and, with Discord linked, as a Discord direct message (Website Notifications).
Replying and withdrawing#
- Use Write a reply... to answer staff. "Reply sent" confirms. Replies are limited to 20 per minute and 2,000 characters each.
- Withdraw application ("Withdraw this application?", then Withdraw) closes it and staff stop reviewing. The cooldown still runs from the day you applied, so you may not be able to apply again straight away.
Community feedback#
When the team has turned community feedback on, the applications page lists other players' active applications with the applicant's name, the category and the date, marked Feedback submitted once you have left some. Opening one shows a limited view instead of their answers. You can leave feedback for the review team: "Share anything staff should know about this applicant." Feedback is visible only to the review team, never to the applicant, is up to 1,000 characters, and you can leave feedback on at most 10 applications per hour. Click Submit feedback; afterwards Update feedback edits it until the application is decided. Once it is decided, feedback closes ("This application has been decided. Feedback is closed.").
Tips#
- Link Discord first; the form is blocked without it.
- Read the requirements before you start: you confirm that you meet all of them when you submit.
- Check Support > Apply again later if applications are closed.
