Gems are Netherite's premium currency. They are bought with real money on the website and then spent in the store on ranks, crate keys and extras. Unlike money, which is separate in every gamemode, your gem balance is one balance for the whole network: gems you buy while playing Skyblock can be spent on Survival, Lifesteal or Prison.
Getting gems#
| Source | How it works |
|---|---|
| Website store | Buy a gem pack on the website. Packs are listed at a base rate of 100 gems per US dollar and are credited to your account balance. See Store. |
| Gem Vault bonus | Every time your total spend on gem packs crosses a new Gem Vault level you are paid a one-time bonus. See Gem Vault. |
| VIP daily claim | VIP members can claim 50 gems every 24 hours from /vip. See VIP Membership. |
| Vote rewards | The Vote Spinner and monthly vote milestones can pay out gems. See Voting. |
| Other players | Players can pay you gems, trade them to you, sell you items for gems on the auction house, or run a gem giveaway with /giveaway start. |
What gems buy#
- The store. Ranks, crate keys and extras are priced in gems, in-game with

- Chest shop prices. A chest shop owner can price items in gems.
- Services. Using

Paying gems#
- The minimum payment is 1 gem, and you cannot pay yourself.
- Gems have no decimals, so amounts are whole numbers.
- Every payment of 1 gem or more opens a Confirm Payment menu first. Click Confirm to send or Cancel to abort.
- The recipient is told in chat that you paid them.
The leaderboard#
/gems top opens the Gems Leaderboard menu. Each page shows ten gem holders laid out as a pyramid with the highest rank at the top, and the arrows at the bottom move between pages. Each entry is a player head with the holder's rank and balance.
Gem Vault#
The Gem Vault is a permanent lifetime reward ladder for gem purchases. Reach a level and you get a one-time gem bonus that is paid automatically. The levels run from Spark to Legacy. See Gem Vault for every level and threshold.
Tips#
- You can trade or auction items for gems without spending real money, which is how many players pick up premium items.
- Turn on VIP to claim 50 gems a day and get a discount on store prices.
