The rules apply on every Netherite server, on the website and on the Discord server. The official, staff-maintained wording lives on the website, and staff can update it at any time, so this page is a summary and points you to the live version.
Where to read them#
- In game, type
/rules. It prints a message with the website address for the rules and the Discord invite. The command works in the hub and in every gamemode. - On the website, open the Guides and rules page. It lists the rules and help articles in sections and has a search box. Individual articles have their own pages.
- The Discord server also carries the rules. The in-game message invites you to join the Discord and read them.
What the terms say#
The network's Terms of Service state that the in-game and community rules are part of the terms. In short:
- No cheating or exploiting. No unauthorized client modifications that give an unfair advantage, and no abusing bugs.
- No harassment, hate speech or threats.
- No spam, advertising or scamming.
- No attempts to disrupt, overload or reverse engineer the services.
- Do not share accounts, access someone else's account or misrepresent who you are to staff.
- Follow the platform rules of Minecraft and Discord as well.
- Store items are licensed to your account for use on the network. They have no real-world value and cannot be redeemed for money.
The full Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy are on the website.
What gets punished#
Staff use a fixed list of reasons when they punish someone. The list shows what the team treats as a rule break. Bans cover cheating and illegal modifications (including hacked clients, autoclicking, macroing, kill aura, mob aura, X-ray and similar), abusing glitches, griefing, nuking, claim camping, TP killing and trapping, stealing or insiding, scamming, trade inventory filling, kill farming or boosting, major advertising, inappropriate skins, builds or names, and trident abuse. Mutes cover chat violations, disruptive behavior, severe chat and threats. Blacklists, which are permanent, cover duping, raiding, doxxing, DDoSing, attempting to lag the server, malicious links, severe advertising, selling accounts and real-life trading or scamming.
The lengths and how repeat offences escalate are on Punishments.
If you see someone breaking the rules#
- Chat abuse: use
/chatreport <player>. See Reporting Players. - Anything else: open a ticket. See Support Tickets.
If you are punished#
You can appeal an active ban, mute or blacklist on the website. See Punishment Appeals.
