Every custom enchant has a rarity. The rarity is shown by the colour of the enchant's name on books and gear, and it decides where the enchant can come from: which rune contains it and how much XP that rune costs. Rarity does not limit an enchant's level and does not change the success chance of a rune book, which is rolled between 1% and 100% for every rune.
The rarities#
| Rarity | Colour | Comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Common | Gray | Common rune |
| Uncommon | Green | Uncommon rune |
| Rare | Blue | Rare rune |
| Legendary | Gold | Legendary rune |
| KOTH | Red | Not sold for XP; only some modes list KOTH enchants |
| Exclusive | Set colour | Limited-time crate sets; never from runes |
An enchant's rarity can differ between modes. Cold Steel, for example, is Rare in Survival and Legendary in Lifesteal. Always check the mode's enchant list.

KOTH enchants#
KOTH is a rarity that is not sold in the enchant shop. The shop in Skyblock and Lifesteal has a KOTH button that opens a browser of the KOTH enchants of that mode (marked "Not sold for XP"). Skyblock lists four KOTH enchants: Goldenvein, Searcast, Unbroken and War Cache. Lifesteal lists five: Bandit, Lasso, Ricochet, Showdown and Tracker (see Lifesteal KOTH Enchants). Prison and Survival have no KOTH button. KOTH enchants come from the KOTH rune, a reward for capturing KOTH in Skyblock and Lifesteal; the rune gives a random KOTH enchant of that mode.
Exclusive enchants#
Exclusive enchants belong to a named set and come attached to rewards from that set's limited-time crate. They cannot be bought as runes, they are not offered by the Black Scroll or the Extraction Scroll, and they are never salvaged. The shop's Exclusive Enchants button lets you read about the sets. See Exclusive Enchants.
How rarity affects what you can buy#
- A rune contains only enchants of its own rarity that are active in the mode.
- Some enchants are kept out of the rune pools of a mode and are listed as unavailable in the shop browser; they are obtained in other ways.
- Salvaging a book returns 25% of the rune price of the book's rarity; see Salvage Books.
