Plunder

Plunder is a Rare enchant for Diamond Sword swords and axes. Each time you kill a mob it has a 5% chance to multiply that mob's drops, doubling them at level I and giving six times as many at level V.

How to get it#

• Rare rune. A Rare rune costs 30,000 XP in the enchant shop. The Rare pool holds 12 enchants, so one Rare rune in twelve gives Plunder. The book has a random success chance and an unrevealed level; see Enchanted Books.
• Crate blades. Blades from limited-time lootboxes, such as the Summer Blade, Sunset Blade and Twilight Blade, roll Plunder at levels 8 to 15, far above the rune maximum. See crate blades.

Effect#

When you kill a mob with the weapon in your main hand, the enchant rolls its 5% chance. On success every item stack in that mob's drops is multiplied: each stack becomes 1 + 100% x level times its size. The chance is the same at every level; only the size of the bonus grows. There is no cooldown.

• It applies to mobs only, not to players.
• The multiplier is applied before Payday sells the drops, so the two work well together.
• It only counts kills you make yourself. A mob finished by a collector or a robot does not roll your weapon.
• On an island spawner, a hit harvests several stored mobs at once. Each harvested mob rolls the chance separately, and the drops are boosted in proportion to the number of rolls that succeed, so a harvest of many mobs pays about what the same number of single kills would. See Managed Spawners.

Levels#

"Average extra drops" is the long-run gain: chance multiplied by the extra amount. A level above V from crate gear keeps the same pattern, for example 16x at level 15.

Notes and tips#

• A rune book reveals a random level from I to V, and the lower levels are the likelier ones; see level of the book.
• The Pirate set also has an exclusive enchant called Plunder (see Pirate Enchants). It is a different enchant from this one.
