Topple

Legendary axe enchant with a 5% chance to fell a large part of a tree, up to 40 connected blocks at level V.

Topple is a Legendary enchant for Diamond Axe axes. When you chop a tree, it has a 5% chance to fell a large connected part of the tree at once. A higher level fells more blocks per proc.

How to get it#

Topple comes from the Legendary rune, which costs 120,000 XP in the enchant shop. The Legendary rune pool in Skyblock holds five enchants and each one is equally likely, so a Legendary rune gives Topple 1 time in 5. Topple is not on any crate gear.

The book comes with an unknown level between I and V. Lower levels are more likely than higher ones (see the table below) and the book's success chance is random between 1% and 100%. See Runes and Enchanted Books for the full process.

Effect#

  1. You break a tree block (a log, wood block, stem or leaves) with a Topple axe in your main hand.
  2. Topple rolls a 5% chance. The chance is the same at every level.
  3. On success it finds connected tree blocks, logs and leaves, starting from the block you broke and moving outward, nearest first. It breaks up to 8 of them per enchant level.

Connected blocks are those touching sideways, above or below, or diagonally on the same level. It stops at the limit for your level or when no more connected tree blocks are found.

The block you broke is part of the search as well: it is counted right after the tree blocks directly touching it. A log rarely touches as many tree blocks as Topple's limit, so a proc usually takes the chopped log as one of its blocks. At level V on the bottom log of a thin trunk, for example, Topple breaks the chopped log and up to 39 more.

The extra blocks:

  • cost no durability;
  • do not trigger Topple or Grove again, give no Logger XP and do not replant with Reforest (this includes the chopped block when the proc takes it);
  • drop their items normally, so Sawmill sells them like the drops of any other block;
  • are only broken where you are allowed to build.

Notes and tips#

  • Because leaves count toward the limit, chopping at the base of the trunk spends it on logs first, while chopping near the crown spends part of it on leaves.
  • Grove procs far more often (25%) but fells at most 5 blocks at level V. The two roll separately, so both can fire on the same block.
  • Reforest ignores blocks that Topple felled, including the chopped log when the proc takes it, so a Topple proc on the lowest log of the trunk does not replant it.
