Crates give random rewards in exchange for a key. On Skyblock the crates are at the crates area: /warp crates. This page explains where keys come from; the general crate system is explained in Crates and Crate Keys.
Opening a crate#
- Go to
/warp cratesand hold the key for the crate ("Hold the key for the crate you want to open!" appears if you carry several kinds). - Right-click the crate. Some lootboxes and pouches open anywhere by right-clicking the item ("Use anywhere to open").
- Watch the opening; rewards go straight to your inventory ("You don't have enough inventory space to receive your rewards!" if it is full). Only one player can open a crate at a time ("Someone is already opening this crate!").
Left-click a crate to preview its rewards; there is a short cooldown between previews ("You must wait 1s before previewing another crate!"). /crate history (alias /crate replays) shows recent crate openings and lets you replay them; /crate opens [crate] shows how many of a crate you have opened.
Where each key comes from#

Keys are items: you can hold them, trade them and use them later.
Skyblock crates#
Skyblock has free crates, earned through voting, KOTH and events, and store crates, including limited-time lootboxes whose rewards rotate. Crate rewards range from money and boosters to automation blocks, managed spawners, enchant runes, XP pouches and cosmetics. Store crates and lootboxes can also give high-tier automation items such as sell wands, harvest wands, batteries and Turbo Hoppers.
