Batteries keep Skyblock machines running. There are two kinds of battery item: machine batteries for blocks, and Robot Batteries for Legendary and Mythic robots.
Machine batteries#
A Battery (lightning rod item) adds time to a battery-powered block. The block runs only while it has charge. When the charge reaches zero the block stops working (a depleted battery shows Depleted in its menu) until you add more.
| Battery | Shop price |
|---|---|
| Battery, 1 hour | $1,000,000 |
| Battery, 3 hours | $2,500,000 |
Battery-powered blocks: Collectors, the Farming Collector, the Crop Hopper, the Chunk Hopper, the Void Chest and the Infinite Chest. The Chunk Loader runs on battery time as well.
Charging a block#
- Open the block's menu (right-click it).
- Pick up a Battery with your cursor and click the battery slot. The battery's time is added to the remaining time and the item is consumed.
The battery item's time is added to whatever is left, so charges stack. The remaining time counts down in real time from the moment it is installed, whether or not the machine had anything to do. Machines bought from the shop come with 30 minutes of battery.
Collector charge per mob#
A collector harvesting a managed spawner spends battery per mob reaped, on top of the normal countdown. The charge per mob depends on the mob; stronger mobs cost more. One battery hour (3,600 s) covers this many mobs of each kind:
| Mob | Charge per mob | Mobs per battery hour | Mobs per 3-hour battery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sheep | 0.000405 s | 8,888,889 | 26,666,667 |
| Pig | 0.000616 s | 5,844,156 | 17,532,468 |
| Chicken | 0.00094 s | 3,829,787 | 11,489,362 |
| Cow | 0.00143 s | 2,517,483 | 7,552,448 |
| Zombie | 0.00211 s | 1,706,161 | 5,118,483 |
| Skeleton | 0.00326 s | 1,104,294 | 3,312,883 |
| Spider | 0.00485 s | 742,268 | 2,226,804 |
| Creeper | 0.00729 s | 493,827 | 1,481,481 |
| Iron Golem | 0.008 s | 450,000 | 1,350,000 |
| Villager | 0.014 s | 257,143 | 771,429 |
| Vindicator | 0.00227 s | 1,585,903 | 4,757,709 |
| Blaze | 0.0146 s | 246,575 | 739,726 |
| Zombified Piglin | 0.00127 s | 2,834,646 | 8,503,937 |
| Magma Cube | 0.0243 s | 148,148 | 444,444 |
| Wither Skeleton | 0.0642 s | 56,075 | 168,224 |
| Enderman | 0.0389 s | 92,545 | 277,635 |
| Shulker | 0.162 s | 22,222 | 66,667 |
The collector only reaps as many mobs as its remaining charge pays for.
Robot batteries#
Legendary and Mythic robots need charge to work; Standard robots are self-powered. A Robot Battery (redstone block item) adds the stated duration of charge when you click the battery button in a robot's Manage Robot menu.
| Robot Battery | Shop price |
|---|---|
| Robot Battery, 1 hour | $10,000 |
| Robot Battery, 3 hours | $25,000 |
A robot spends charge per operation, not in real time:
| Rarity | Capacity | Charge per operation | Operations per battery hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legendary | 24 hours | 1 s | 3,600 |
| Mythic | 48 hours | 0.75 s | 4,800 |
A robot stops when the charge is used up and resumes after you insert another battery ("Added 1 hour of battery charge."). Standard robots show "Self-Powered" and refuse batteries ("Standard robots run without batteries."). Robot batteries are also found as rewards in crates, weekly challenges and treasure hunts.
