Island Warps and Visiting

How to go home, set your island's home point, create public and private warps, visit other islands, browse the public island directory and keep players out with bans.

Island Warps and Visiting covers every way of moving to, and between, Skyblock islands: going to your own island, setting the point where you and your visitors arrive, creating named warps on your island, visiting other players, and the public island directory. It also explains public and private islands, bans, and when a teleport onto an island is refused.

Commands#

All island commands start with /island (alias /is).

Permission names are the ones shown in the island permissions menu, and the owner can change the role each one needs, see Island Permissions. Any permission other than owner-only ones can be set no higher than Co-Owner.

There is no teleport warm-up on Skyblock, so these commands move you straight away. Loading an island that nobody is on can take a few seconds.

Going home#

/is home (or /is go) teleports you to your island and sends "Teleporting you to your island...".

  • If you have no island, it opens the island creation menu instead, see Creating an Island.
  • If you belong to several islands, the Select an Island menu opens. Click the island you want. The menu lists your islands as owned (gold) or joined (aqua) and shows how many islands you own and have joined.
  • The Visit Island button in the island menu does the same thing for the island you have selected.

You arrive at the island's home point.

Setting the home point#

/is sethome makes your current position the island's home point. It is where you land after /is home, where visitors land after /is visit, and where right-clicking an island in the directory takes you.

  • You must be standing in your island's world, otherwise: "You can only set island home in your island world!".
  • You must be standing on solid ground, otherwise: "Your home must be on the ground!".
  • On success: "Your island home has been set!".
  • Any member of the island can use it. The command has no minimum role.
  • The Nether and End each have their own spawn, set with /is setspawn <dimension>, see Island Dimensions (Nether and End).

Island warps#

A warp is a named teleport point inside your island. Members use warps to jump between farms and build areas, and a warp can also be made public so that visitors can use it.

Creating and managing warps#

StepCommand
Create a private warp/is setwarp private <name>
Create a public warp/is setwarp public <name>
Change visibility later/is setwarppublic <name> <public\|private>
Teleport to a warp/is warp <name>
Delete a warp/is delwarp <name>

Rules for creating a warp:

  • You must have the Set Warps permission on the island (Officer and above by default).
  • The warp is created where you stand. You can only create warps inside an island world, which means an island's Overworld, or its Nether or End once unlocked. Spawn and other game areas are refused with "You cannot create a warp here!".
  • A name can be at most 32 characters long ("Warp name is too long!") and must not already be used on your island, ignoring capital letters ("Warp <name> already exists!").
  • The island can hold only as many warps as its warp limit allows, counting public and private warps together.
  • A public warp needs a public island: "You cannot make a warp public on a private island!".
  • /is setwarp <public\|private> <name> and /is delwarp <name> accept names with spaces, but /is warp <name> and /is setwarppublic <name> <public\|private> read only one word. Use single-word names, or you will not be able to teleport to the warp by command.
  • Deleting needs the Delete Warp permission (Officer and above by default).

Messages you may see: "Warp <name> created!", "Warp <name> deleted!", "Warp <name> public status set to <public or private>!", "Teleporting to warp <name>...", "Warp <name> does not exist!", and "Warp <name> is not resolvable!" when the world behind the warp could not be loaded, in which case you should try again in a moment.

Warp limit#

The number of warps an island may hold comes from the Max Warps island upgrade. Every island starts at level 1.

LevelWarpsCost to reach
13Free (starting level)
25$250,000
37$1,000,000
410$5,000,000
515$25,000,000

The upgrade is bought in /is upgrades, see Island Upgrades. At the limit, creating another warp answers "You have reached the maximum amount of warps!".

Who can use a warp#

PlayerPrivate warpPublic warp
Island memberYesYes
Anyone elseNoYes, while the island is public

Public and private are tied together in both directions. A public warp cannot exist on a private island, so /is close is refused while the island still has a public warp: "You cannot make your island private if it has public warps!". Switch those warps to private with /is setwarppublic <name> private first.

Public and private islands#

An island is either public or private.

Private (default)Public
Who can teleport in with /is visit <player>Members, and anyone whose role holds Close BypassAnyone who is not banned
Listed in the island directoryNoYes
Public warps allowedNoYes
  • New islands start private.
  • Open the island with /is open (or /is public) and close it with /is close (or /is private). Both answer "Your island public status has been changed to <Public or Private>".
  • The Island Status block in the island menu does the same with one click. It shows an emerald block with "Anyone can visit your island" when public and a redstone block with "Only members can access your island" when private.
  • Opening needs Open Island (Co-Owner by default), closing needs Close Island (Officer and above by default). Without it you get "You don't have permission to do that!".
  • Members can always enter their own island. Close Bypass is a role-based permission that lets other roles in too. By default only the Default role and above hold it, which are the members already. If the owner lowers it to Co-Op, co-ops can enter a closed island, and at Guest everybody can.
  • /is info [player] (aliases /is show, /is who) prints an island's owner, status (Public or Private) and members.

What visitors can do#

Entering an island does not give any building rights. A visitor has the Guest role, and by default Guests only hold the Interact and Fly permissions. Breaking, building, opening chests, picking up drops and everything else needs a higher role. The island owner can change the role each permission needs, see Island Permissions.

Visiting a player#

/is visit <player> teleports you to the home point of that player's island.

  1. Type the player's name. They do not need to be online.
  2. If they have no island you get "<player> doesn't have an island!".
  3. If they belong to several islands, the Select an Island menu lets you choose which one.
  4. The island must allow you in. A private island you are not part of answers "This island is not public!", and an island you are banned from answers "You are banned from the island!".
  5. On success: "Teleporting you to <player>'s island...".

Visiting yourself does the same as /is home.

Island directory#

/is directory opens the Island Directory, a menu of every public island on Skyblock. Anyone can open it, whether or not they own an island.

PartWhat it does
Island entryThe owner's head, named after the island (its custom name, or "<Owner>'s Island"). Lore shows the owner and the member count.
Left-click an islandOpens that island's warps menu
Right-click an islandVisits the island, as with /is visit <player> using the island's owner (a picker appears if the owner has several islands)
Go back (top left)Closes the menu
Arrows (bottom corners)Previous and next page
  • Each page shows 14 islands. There is no search, filter or ranking, and the islands are not sorted by level or activity.
  • New islands are private, so the directory lists only islands that have been opened with /is open.
  • To find an island to join as a member rather than visit, use /is find and see Island Recruitment.

The warps menu#

Left-clicking an island opens a menu titled with the island's name.

PartWhat it does
Island head (top centre)Shows the island name, owner and member count
Ender pearlsOne per warp, named after the warp. Click to teleport there ("Click to warp."). Seven per page.
Visit (grass block, bottom centre)Teleports you to the island home point ("Click to warp to this location.")
Go back (top left)Returns to the directory
Arrows (bottom corners)Previous and next page

The menu lists every warp the island has, public or private. A private warp can only be used by island members. If you are not a member and click one, the teleport is refused with "Unknown error. Please try again in a few seconds!". A public warp on a public island works for anyone who is not banned.

Banned players#

A ban keeps one player away from your island, whether or not they are a member.

CommandWhat it does
/is ban <player>Bans the player. Needs Ban Members (Officer and above by default).
/is unban <player>Lifts the ban
/is banlistShows "Banned players: ...", or "There are no banned players!"
  • You cannot ban yourself ("You cannot ban yourself!"), a player who is already banned, or a member whose role is equal to or higher than yours.
  • Banning a member also removes them from the island, and any pending invite is cancelled.
  • A banned player cannot enter any world of the island, even when it is public: /is visit <player> answers "You are banned from the island!", and any other teleport onto the island is refused.
  • A banned player who is standing on the island when the ban lands is sent to spawn immediately.
  • A banned player also cannot apply to join the island through recruitment, see Island Recruitment.

Expelling visitors#

/is expel <player> sends one player who is currently on your island to spawn, without banning them. It needs Expel Players (Officer and above by default). Players who hold Expel Bypass, which by default is every member, cannot be expelled. The expelled player sees "You have been expelled from the island!". They can come back unless you also ban them.

Teleport prevention#

Whenever a teleport would land inside an island world, the game checks it first. The check covers the island commands, homes, warps and player warps.

SituationResult
You are banned from the islandThe teleport is refused, for every world of that island
The island is closed and you are not allowed in, using /is visit <player> or the directory's Visit buttonRefused ("This island is not public!")
The island is closed and you use another teleport, such as an Essentials home or a player warp inside itNot refused. Skyblock lets these through, and only a ban stops them.
You leave an islandNever blocked. Going to spawn or the hub is always allowed.

Because other teleports are not stopped by a closed island, a ban is the way to keep a specific player out for good. Closing the island only controls /is visit <player>, the directory and which warps are public.

When a member is kicked from or leaves a closed island while standing on it, they are sent to spawn.

Other teleport commands#

These are not island commands, but you will use them alongside them.

CommandWhat it does
/spawnTakes you to the Skyblock spawn from anywhere, including from an island. Never blocked by island rules.
/hub (alias /lobby)Leaves Skyblock and sends you to the network hub
/warpsOpens the Warps menu of server warps: Spawn, Crates, Custom Enchants, PvP, Auction House, Shop and Pirate Cove
/warp <name>Teleports to a server warp. Island warps always need the /is prefix.
/home, /sethome <name>Your personal Essentials homes. They can be set inside island worlds. Players without a rank start with 1 home slot and ranks add more. See Homes.
/pwPlayer warps. Setting one inside an island needs the Set Warps permission on that island, and player warps on Skyblock can only point at islands.

The Essentials teleport commands, such as teleport requests, are described in Teleporting and Warps.

Tips#

  • Name warps with a single word, such as farm or spawners, so that /is warp <name> works.
  • Keep a public warp on your island's most interesting build and everything else private.
  • If a visitor will not leave, use /is expel <player> first and /is ban <player> if they return.
  • Make your island private again before you start a build you do not want shown. Close it only after switching any public warps to private.
  • Raise Max Warps only when you need it. Level 2 costs $250,000 for two more warps.
