Tunnel is a Rare enchant for Diamond Pickaxe pickaxes. Each time you break a stone or ore block, it has a chance to break a straight line of three more blocks in front of you.
How to get it#
Tunnel comes from the Rare rune, which costs 30,000 XP in the enchant shop. The Rare rune pool in Skyblock holds 12 enchants and each one is equally likely, so a Rare rune gives Tunnel about 1 time in 12 (8.3%). Tunnel is not on any crate gear.
The book comes with an unknown level between I and V. Lower levels are more likely than higher ones (see the table below) and the book's success chance is random between 1% and 100%. See Runes and Enchanted Books for the full process.
Effect#
- You break a mining block (a stone type or an ore) with a Tunnel pickaxe in your main hand.
- Tunnel rolls its chance for that block.
- On success, the three spaces in a straight line next to the broken block, in the direction you are facing, are checked one after the other and every mining block in them is broken.
The line always runs along the compass direction you face (north, east, south or west), even when you are mining upward or downward. A space in the line that holds something other than a mining block, or nothing at all, is skipped and the check continues with the next space. The length is 3 at every level and the level only changes the chance.
The extra blocks:
- cost no durability;
- do not trigger Tunnel or Quarry again and give no Experience bonus;
- drop their items normally, so Collector, Furnace, Riches and Cashout handle them like any other mined block, and ores among them can trigger War Cache;
- are only broken where you are allowed to build.

Notes and tips#
- Face the way you are digging. Tunnel follows your facing direction, not the side of the block you clicked.
- Quarry and Tunnel roll separately, so both can fire on the same block.
- Tunnel pays off most when you strip-mine a straight tunnel through stone or an ore vein.
