Windmill is a Legendary enchant for Diamond Hoe hoes. When you harvest a fully grown crop, it has a chance to harvest every other fully grown crop in a 7x7 area around it as well.
How to get it#
Windmill comes from the Legendary rune, which costs 120,000 XP in the enchant shop. The Legendary rune pool in Skyblock holds five enchants and each one is equally likely, so a Legendary rune gives Windmill 1 time in 5. Windmill is not on any crate gear.
The book comes with an unknown level between I and V. Lower levels are more likely than higher ones (see the table below) and the book's success chance is random between 1% and 100%. See Runes and Enchanted Books for the full process.
Effect#
- You break a fully grown crop with a Windmill hoe in your main hand. See crops and harvests for what counts.
- Windmill rolls its chance for that crop.
- On success, every fully grown crop in the 7x7 square centred on the crop you broke is harvested too, at the same height. That is up to 48 extra crops.
The area is the same at every level and the level only changes the chance. Crops that are not fully grown are left standing, so young crops in the square are safe. Fully grown melon and pumpkin stems with no fruit attached count as ripe crops, so Windmill cuts them too.
The extra crops:
- cost no durability;
- do not trigger Windmill or Reaper again and give no Cultivate XP;
- drop their items normally, so Bounty, Market and Seeder deal with them like any other harvest;
- are only broken where you are allowed to build.
Levels#
| Level | Chance per harvested crop | Area | Chance to get this level from a rune book |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | 1% | 7x7 | 29.7% |
| II | 2% | 7x7 | 23.8% |
| III | 3% | 7x7 | 19.0% |
| IV | 4% | 7x7 | 15.2% |
| V | 5% | 7x7 | 12.2% |
Notes and tips#
- Windmill is a bonus on top of normal farming. At level V it averages up to 2.4 extra crops per crop you break (5% of 48), compared with up to 1.6 for Reaper at level V (20% of 8). The real number depends on how many crops in the square are ripe.
- Windmill and Reaper roll separately, so both can fire on the same crop.
- Plant in flat, even fields: the area only reaches crops at the same height as the one you broke.
- Do not use a Windmill hoe next to melon or pumpkin stems you want to keep.
