Getting Started on Netherite

Getting Started on Netherite

A first-hour guide to Netherite: connect, find your way around the hub, pick a gamemode, set up your account and learn the commands every player needs.

Netherite is a free Minecraft network for Java and Bedrock players with four gamemodes: Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival. This guide takes you from nothing to playing in a few minutes and points to the right guide for each next step.

1. Connect#

Add the server address to your game:

EditionAddressPort
Java Edition (1.21.4 or newer)connect.netherite.ggdefault
Bedrock Edition (mobile, Windows)connect.netherite.gg19132
Xbox and PlayStationconnect.netherite.gg through the BedrockTogether phone app19132

Step-by-step guides: Joining on Java Edition, Joining on Bedrock Edition and Joining from Xbox or PlayStation. There is no whitelist and no cost. If something goes wrong, see Connection Troubleshooting.

2. Accept the resource pack#

When the game offers the server resource pack, accept it. It adds the custom items and menu graphics the gamemodes use. Without it, custom items look like vanilla items. See Server Resource Pack.

3. Find your way around the hub#

You arrive in the hub, a safe spawn area with two hotbar items:

  • The Server Selector (nether star) opens the list of gamemodes.
  • The Hub Selector (clock) moves you to another copy of the hub.

Details are in Getting Started in the Hub.

4. Pick a gamemode#

Open the Server Selector and click a mode, or type /skyblock, /prison, /lifesteal or /survival.

Common first questions#

  • Why am I in a lobby and cannot move? A gamemode is restarting. You are sent back automatically. See Mode Lobbies.
  • Why does my Bedrock name start with a dot? It keeps Java and Bedrock names separate. See Joining on Bedrock Edition.
  • More answers: Network FAQ.
