A mode lobby is a small holding server that exists in front of each gamemode. Skyblock, Prison, Lifesteal and Survival each have one. You normally spend only a few seconds there: the lobby sends you on to the place you last played as soon as that server is ready.
When you end up in a lobby#

The lobby is separate from the hub. The hub is where you choose a mode (Getting Started in the Hub). A lobby only exists to wait for a mode.
What you see and can do#
While you are in a lobby:
- A red title reads The server is rebooting with the subtitle You will be moved shortly... and repeats until you are moved.
- You are held in place at a fixed spot and can fly there. If you drift away you are pulled back.
- You are hidden from other players and they are hidden from you. No join or leave messages are shown.
- You cannot chat, interact with blocks, take damage, drop items or move items in your inventory.
- Time and weather are frozen.
- Only
/hub(alias/lobby) works. Every other command is blocked.
How the send-back works#
- Three seconds after you arrive, the lobby starts trying to send you to the place you last played in that mode. First-time players go to the mode's default spawn.
- The lobby retries every second and moves at most five players per cycle, so a big group is released in a steady stream rather than all at once.
- If the server you were on is not ready, you keep waiting and the lobby checks again shortly.
- If that server is still unavailable after 10 minutes, you are sent to the mode's default spawn instead. If you are still in the lobby 30 seconds after that, it tries again.
If you are stuck#
- Wait. You are moved automatically as soon as the server is ready again.
- Type
/hubto go to the hub and pick the mode again through the Server Selector. - If you are still stuck after ten minutes, open a ticket (Support Tickets) or ask on Discord (Contacting Staff).
Differences between modes#
All four lobbies behave the same way. The only difference is which mode they lead to.
