Prison Store Ranks and Perks

The six purchasable Prison ranks from Nomad to Caveman, their perks and kits, and how the in-game Gems store prices, sells and delivers them on Prison.

Prison Store Ranks are six purchasable ranks, Nomad, Forager, Scout, Huntsman, Savage and Caveman, that raise your auction, chest shop, vault, mine and gang limits and add commands, a sell bonus and a weekly kit. They are bought with Gems in the in-game store, which opens with /store.

The rank ladder#

Each rank is a separate product in the ranks category of the Prison store, priced in Gems. The six ranks form one ladder, from lowest to highest: Nomad, Forager, Scout, Huntsman, Savage, Caveman. You can buy any rank directly, and the store credits the rank you already own (see Buying a rank).

The rank's tile in /store shows the price you would pay today, after any sale, upgrade credit and VIP discount. Caveman is the top Prison rank; the network-wide Netherite rank sits above every gamemode ladder and is covered on Netherite Rank.

Perks by rank#

The numbers are the ones each rank's perk list gives. A dash means the rank's perk list does not mention that perk. The first column is the limit for players without a store rank; for the mine and gang limits, a rank can only raise it.

What each limit means#

  • Auction house slots are the listings you can have active at once. Past the limit you see "You have reached your auction limit". See Auction House.
  • Chest shops are the shops you can own. See Chest Shops.
  • Player vaults are extra 54-slot storage pages, opened with /playervault [vault] (alias /pv). See Player Vaults.
  • Trusted players on your mine are the players you can add with /mine add <player> so they can visit your mine while it is private. The limit comes from the mine owner's rank. At the limit you see "You have reached the trust limit!" See Mine Menu and Management.
  • Highest mine tax rate is the highest rate you can set with /mine tax <rate>. A higher rate gets "Cannot set tax rate higher than N%!". See Mine Menu and Management.
  • Sell bonus raises what you are paid when you sell with /sell or by autosell, timed or instant. It adds to the multiplier from backpack upgrades instead of replacing it. The Sell Now button in the backpack menu pays without either. See Income Multipliers.
  • Gang size is read from the gang's owner, so a gang owned by a Savage or Caveman holds 7 members including the owner. See Creating and Joining a Gang.

Commands each rank unlocks#

The table shows the lowest rank whose perk list names each command.

First listed onCommandsWhat they do
Nomad/dispose (aliases /trash, /disposal)Opens a Dispose window. Items you put in it are destroyed.
Nomad/seen <player>Says whether a player is online or how long ago they were last seen. Only the Nomad list names it.
Forager/feed (alias /eat)Restores your hunger.
Forager/enderchest (alias /ec)Opens your ender chest.
Forager/workbench (aliases /craft, /wb, /craftingtable)Opens a crafting table.
Forager/bottlexp [amount] (alias /xpbottle)Withdraws experience into a bottle after a Withdraw N XP? confirmation.
Huntsman/autosell [state] (alias /as)Switches instant autosell on or off. What you mine is sold about once a second instead of waiting in your backpack.
Savage/flyToggles flight with no time limit.

Instant autosell. /autosell is the instant autosell toggle. The backpack menu's info item says it is unlocked with the Huntsman rank, and the Savage and Caveman perk lists name it as "/autosell (instant)". The 7th Rebirth Crate you open also unlocks it permanently; see Rebirth Crate. Without it, everyone can still switch on the timed Toggle Auto Sell in the backpack menu. See Backpack and Autosell.

Flight. Savage and Caveman fly without a time limit. Without them, /fly works only while you have fly time left, which /flytime (alias /tempfly) shows, or while a Prison-wide Free fly event is running. With no fly time you see "You don't have any fly time left!" and "Purchase Savage rank for unlimited fly time." Holding your pickaxe also lets you fly through its built-in Fly enchant.

Rank kits#

Each rank comes with its own kit. Open the kit list with /kits (alias /kit), then left-click a kit to claim it or right-click to preview it. Claim directly with /kit <kit>, or preview with /kit preview <kit>.

  • Every rank kit has a 7 day cooldown, counted per kit from the moment you claim it. The menu shows Claimable or On cooldown for the time left.
  • A kit your rank does not include answers "You don't have permission to claim this kit!". A kit on cooldown answers "Kit NAME is on cooldown for TIME!". A claim answers "Successfully claimed the kit NAME!".
  • Each kit also contains 64 cooked beef. The Nomad kit's Rank Skip is explained on Skip Items.
  • The gear is named after the rank, such as Nomad Helmet, and the Scout kit's chestplate is named Forager Chestplate.

Kit boosters#

Boosters are items. Right-click one to start it.

BoosterEffect
Money Boosters1.5x the money you get when you sell
Tokens Boosters1.25x tokens from mining
Beacons Boosters1.25x the beacons found in your mine

A booster's time only counts down while you are on Prison. It pauses when you log out or switch to another mode. Boosters of the same kind do not run together: the strongest runs first and the others wait in your queue. See Boosters.

Default Kit#

The kit list also holds a Default Kit, described as "A basic kit, to give you a head-start for your first adventure." It has a 1 day cooldown and contains an Explosive V Enchant Token with a 100% apply chance (see Explosive) and a Daily Tokens Booster worth 1.25x tokens for 15 minutes.

Buying a rank#

  1. Run /store. The Store menu shows your Your Gems balance, one tile for each category and a Buy Gems button.
  2. Click the ranks category, described as "Buy Ranks - unlock perks & features".
  3. Click the rank you want. Its tile lists the perks, the price and any sale.
  4. In Confirm Purchase, check the line You pay and your balance before and after, then click Confirm Purchase. Cancel goes back.
  5. The store takes the Gems and answers "Purchased RANK for N gems!". The rank is then delivered to you on Prison.

Rank tile states#

Tile saysMeaning
Click to purchase! You can buy it.
Upgrade price with a struck-through full priceYou own a lower rank and the store credited it.
OwnedThis is your current rank.
"You already own X, a higher rank in this ladder."You own a higher rank, so this one cannot be bought.
LockedA requirement is missing. The tile gives the reason.
"You need N more gems."You cannot afford it. Clicking offers top-up options.

Upgrading#

You do not have to buy the ladder one rank at a time. When you buy a higher rank, the store subtracts the current price of the highest rank you already own, after any sale on that rank, down to a minimum of zero. For example, buying Scout while you own Forager costs Scout's price minus Forager's price. The tile shows this as Upgrade price, with the full price struck through. The confirmation reads "Upgraded to RANK for N gems (upgrade from OTHER)!".

You cannot buy a rank at or below your highest one: "You already own this rank (or a higher one in this ladder)."

Sales and the VIP discount#

  • A store sale shows a banner on the store menu, a sale badge and a countdown on the discounted tiles, and a glow on them. Only the single largest active discount applies. Discounts do not stack with each other.
  • The sale applies first, then the upgrade credit, and then the VIP discount last. VIP subscribers get 5% off the final price of every purchase.
  • If a sale starts or ends while you are confirming, you see "The price changed to N gems (a sale just started or ended). Please review and confirm again." Nothing is charged until you confirm again.

When you are short on Gems#

The confirm screen shows Not Enough Gems with your price, balance and shortfall. Click it, or click Buy Gems in any store menu, to receive a clickable link to the website gem store. Buying Gems is explained on Gems.

Messages you may see#

MessageMeaning
"This purchase was already processed — no extra gems were charged."You confirmed the same purchase twice. You were charged once.
"Couldn't process the gem payment. You were not charged."The payment failed.
"You've reached the purchase limit for this product."You have bought this limited product as many times as allowed.
"This product is sold out."A product with limited stock has none left.
"The store couldn't load right now. Please try again in a moment."The store did not answer. Run /store again.

Delivery#

The store records the purchase first, then hands the product to the Prison delivery queue. A delivery is made only while you are online on Prison. If you are away, it waits in the queue and is delivered when you return. A delivery that is interrupted is retried automatically.

When a purchase is delivered, it is announced to the whole network in chat as "NAME purchased PRODUCT" with a (/store) link. If a sale priced the purchase, a second line says which sale you used and how many Gems you saved.

Other products in the Prison store#

The Prison store also sells crate keys, grouped by crate. A crate with several pack sizes opens an amount picker that shows the price per key, the saving against single keys and the best pack. Keys and crates are covered on Prison Crates and Crate Keys.

Some free products are claimed on the website instead. Clicking one closes the menu and sends a link, and the product lists steps such as signing in on the website, linking your Discord account or subscribing to marketing emails.

VIP#

VIP is a subscription sold through the store. Besides the 5% discount above, VIP subscribers can claim 50 Gems every 24 hours from /vip. Non-subscribers see the menu but cannot claim: "Daily gems are a VIP perk — subscribe to claim them!" VIP works the same on every mode. See Store.
