Plot Access and Settings

The plot Settings and Members menus for time, weather, public access, who may build, plot name and description, and the public plot list.

This page covers who can visit and build on your plot, and the settings that change how it looks. Everything is reached through /plot.

Settings#

Open /plot and click Settings. Each button shows its current value ("Now: ..."); clicking it switches to the next value or opens a text box. Changes apply straight away for everyone on the plot.

ButtonWhat it does
TimeCycles the time of day on your plot through Follow server, Day, Noon, Sunset, Night and Midnight. "Follow server" keeps the normal day and night cycle; the others freeze the plot at that time
WeatherCycles through Follow server (normal weather), Clear, Rain and Thunder. The others hold that weather
VisitorsSwitches your plot between private ("Only trusted players can visit.") and public ("Anyone can visit your plot."). A public plot appears in the plot list
Build AccessCycles the lowest role that may build: Member, Officer, Co-Owner or Owner. It shows "(role) and above". The default is Officer. Guests can never be given build access
Plot NameOpens a text box for a name of up to 24 characters, shown in the plot list. Submit it empty to clear it
Plot DescriptionOpens a text box for a description of up to 64 characters, shown under your plot in the plot list. Submit it empty to clear it
ThemeShows your current theme and opens the Plot Theme menu. See Plot Themes

Colour codes and formatting are stripped from names and descriptions, and the text must pass the chat filter: if it is refused you see "Please pick something else for your plot." Otherwise "Plot updated!", or "Cleared." when you remove it.

Members#

The Members button opens the Plot Members menu, a list of the players you trust on your plot. It is a separate list from the trusted players of your mine: trusting someone on your plot does not trust them in your mine, or the other way round. For the role names, see roles.

  • Click Add Player and enter a player name in the text box to trust someone: "(player) has been trusted!". They join as a Member.
  • Click a player's head and confirm ("Yes, untrust them") to remove them: "(player) has been untrusted!".
  • The Members button in the plot menu shows how many players are trusted and the lowest role that can build ("Can build: (role) and above").

The plot list has its own trust limit, the same size as your mine's (see trusted players); past it you see "You have reached the trust limit!".

Plot members can enter a private plot. Only players whose role is at or above the Build Access setting can place or break blocks, use buckets, edit signs and open containers. Everyone you add here is a Member, and the plot has no way to change that role, so to let your plot members build, set Build Access to Member (the default is Officer). Everyone else can look around and use chest shops.

The public plot list#

/plots (alias /plotdirectory), or the Visit Plots button in the plot menu, opens the Plots menu: every plot its owner has made public, with page buttons. Each entry is the owner's head:

  • A plot with a description shows its name (or "(owner)'s plot" if it has none), the description in italics, the owner and the owner's mine level.
  • A plot without a description is listed as "(owner)'s plot" with the owner's mine level, even if it has a name.

Click an entry to visit. Plots are listed with the highest-ranked owners first: most rebirths, then prestige, then rank. The list can take a few seconds to show a plot that was just made public or private.

If nobody has a public plot you see "No plots to visit yet".

Bans#

A player you banned from your mine cannot visit your plot either. See visitors and bans.

Tips#

  • Set a name and description before making your plot public, so it stands out in the list.
  • A frozen time (for example Midnight) with Clear weather makes builds easier to photograph and to show others.
