Gangs

Gangs are the team system of Prison. A gang has its own chat channel, ranks with adjustable permissions, shared access to each other's mines, permanent and activatable perks, and a place on the weekly gang leaderboard. A gang never owns money or items: its strength is the total of the beacons that its members personally hold.

How gangs work#

• Every player can be in one gang at a time. Create one with /gang create <name> or from the menu, then invite friends or open the gang to the public. See Creating and Joining a Gang.
• A gang holds up to 6 members. If the gang owner has the Savage or Caveman rank, the gang can hold one extra member (7 in total).
• Members have one of four ranks (Member, Officer, Co-owner, Owner). Each rank can be given or denied individual actions such as inviting, kicking and activating perks. See Gang Members and Roles.
• Beacons are a currency that drops from rare beacon blocks in your mine. A gang's beacon total is the sum of its members' personal balances. That one number decides both the gang's leaderboard score and which perk levels the gang unlocks. See Gang Beacons.
• Gang members can mine in each other's mines. See Mines for how mines work.
• Gang perks boost the beacons, tokens and drops that every member earns while mining. See Gang Perks.
• Every Wednesday at 20:00 the weekly leaderboard closes. The three gangs that grew their beacon total the most are paid in Gems. See Gang Leaderboard.

Where to find gangs in game#

The Prison scoreboard shows your gang's name, its beacon total and its leader. Your gang's name also appears in front of your name in chat, and hovering over it shows the leader and the member list.
