Prestige mines are ten shared mines, one for each planet, that you unlock by reaching prestige 10, 20, ... 100. Unlike your personal mine, a prestige mine is not yours: players who have unlocked it mine side by side in the same world. More than one copy of a planet can be open at once, so the players you see are the ones in your copy. Planets hold richer blocks than your own mine can, and they are where the Meteor Strike event happens.
Getting there#
Run /prestigemine (alias /pmine) to open the Prestige Mines menu, a grid of the ten planets. Each tile shows the prestige it needs. A planet you can enter shows the planet's head and "Click to warp!"; a locked one shows a barrier and "Requires prestige (N)." You can also warp directly with /prestigemine <tier> (for example /pmine 3 for Venus). If you do not meet the prestige, you see "You need prestige (N) to enter that mine." and if the tier does not exist, "There is no prestige mine for tier (N)."
If the planet cannot be opened right now you see "That prestige mine is not available right now."
| Planet | Tier |
|---|---|
| Moon | 1 |
| Mercury | 2 |
| Venus | 3 |
| Mars | 4 |
| Jupiter | 5 |
| Saturn | 6 |
| Uranus | 7 |
| Neptune | 8 |
| Pluto | 9 |
| Sun | 10 |
The tier's prestige requirement is ten times its tier. A rebirth resets your prestige to 0, which locks the planets again until you prestige back up. See Prestige.
Mining on a planet#
You mine with your pickaxe exactly as at home. Blocks pay tokens and drop into your backpack, and your boosters, prestige and rebirth multipliers all apply. Each planet has its own five blocks. The percentages are each block's chance, and the token figure is paid per block broken before any bonus:
| Planet | Prestige needed | Blocks, chance per block and tokens per block |
|---|---|---|
| Moon (tier 1) | 10 | Andesite 40% (8 tokens); Coal Ore 25% (12 tokens); Copper Ore 18% (16 tokens); Iron Ore 12% (20 tokens); Diamond Ore 5% (28 tokens) |
| Mercury (tier 2) | 20 | Coal Ore 40% (10 tokens); Copper Ore 25% (15 tokens); Lapis Ore 18% (20 tokens); Redstone Ore 12% (25 tokens); Diamond Ore 5% (35 tokens) |
| Venus (tier 3) | 30 | Copper Ore 40% (14 tokens); Iron Ore 25% (21 tokens); Gold Ore 18% (28 tokens); Redstone Ore 12% (35 tokens); Bricks 5% (49 tokens) |
| Mars (tier 4) | 40 | Copper Ore 40% (18 tokens); Iron Ore 25% (27 tokens); Gold Ore 18% (36 tokens); Emerald Ore 12% (45 tokens); Bricks 5% (63 tokens) |
| Jupiter (tier 5) | 50 | Copper Ore 40% (23 tokens); Iron Ore 25% (35 tokens); Redstone Ore 18% (46 tokens); Emerald Ore 12% (58 tokens); Bricks 5% (81 tokens) |
| Saturn (tier 6) | 60 | Copper Ore 40% (30 tokens); Iron Ore 25% (45 tokens); Diamond Ore 18% (60 tokens); Nether Quartz Ore 12% (75 tokens); Bricks 5% (105 tokens) |
| Uranus (tier 7) | 70 | Iron Ore 40% (39 tokens); Gold Ore 25% (59 tokens); Lapis Ore 18% (78 tokens); Diamond Ore 12% (98 tokens); Coal Block 5% (137 tokens) |
| Neptune (tier 8) | 80 | Iron Ore 40% (50 tokens); Gold Ore 25% (75 tokens); Redstone Ore 18% (100 tokens); Diamond Ore 12% (125 tokens); Coal Block 5% (175 tokens) |
| Pluto (tier 9) | 90 | Iron Ore 40% (65 tokens); Gold Ore 25% (97 tokens); Lapis Ore 18% (130 tokens); Emerald Ore 12% (162 tokens); Coal Block 5% (227 tokens) |
| Sun (tier 10) | 100 | Iron Ore 40% (85 tokens); Gold Ore 25% (127 tokens); Lapis Ore 18% (170 tokens); Nether Quartz Ore 12% (212 tokens); Coal Block 5% (297 tokens) |
Averaged over those chances, 1,000 blocks on each planet pay:
| Planet | Tokens per 1,000 blocks | Base sale value of 1,000 blocks |
|---|---|---|
| Moon | 12,880 | $115,500 |
| Mercury | 16,100 | $187,250 |
| Venus | 22,540 | $204,500 |
| Mars | 28,980 | $222,500 |
| Jupiter | 37,240 | $240,500 |
| Saturn | 48,300 | $255,500 |
| Uranus | 63,000 | $269,500 |
| Neptune | 80,500 | $278,500 |
| Pluto | 104,440 | $281,500 |
| Sun | 136,640 | $287,500 |
Sale values use the same sell prices as your own mine; see Mine Blocks.
Enchants on planets#
Because everyone shares the mine, only seven triggered enchants can fire on a planet: Explosive, Glitch Bomb, Zeus, Cluster Bomb and Vein Miner, which clear a small area around the block you broke, and Beacon Rush and Treasure Finder, which break nothing. Every other triggered enchant does nothing on planets, including Nuke, Jackhammer, Slicer, Laser, Blackhole, Supernova, Frostbite, Gold Rush, Raining Anvils, Solar Beam, Token Rush and Skin Mastery, and nothing triggers while a planet is being refilled. Fortune and Token Finder, which raise what each block pays, work as usual. See Pickaxe Enchants.
Resets#
A shared mine cannot be reset by one player, so planets refill on their own:
- The whole face is repasted every 5 minutes, on the clock, so every server agrees on when.
- In between, once half of a mine's blocks have been broken, holes are refilled as you go.
Meteor Strike#
A Meteor Strike is a random event that drops a meteor into a planet. It is announced in chat to the players on the same server: "A meteor strike occurred on (planet)! Go mine it now!", and players already on that planet get a METEOR INCOMING warning title. The meteor lands 5 seconds later.
| Chance | Checked every 90 seconds for each planet; a 20% chance if the planet is quiet |
| Which planets | Only planets that at least one online player on the server has the prestige to enter |
| Cooldown | 10 minutes before the same planet can be hit again |
| Meteor | A sphere of obsidian, blackstone and magma blocks, radius 5, half-buried in the middle of the mine's surface |
| Health | 500 |
| Damage | Each meteor block you break by hand deals 1 damage. The block stays in place, so you can keep hitting it. Enchants and explosives do not damage the meteor |
| Time limit | 5 minutes; if it is not destroyed in time it disappears |
| Reward | A pool of 50,000 tokens split among everyone who dealt damage and is still online, by share of the damage |
While a meteor is alive a red boss bar shows its remaining health. When it is destroyed, every player who damaged it gets "You earned (tokens) tokens helping destroy the meteor!" and a meteor counts as one event for you. Meteor events count toward the Meteor Strikes achievement chain, the weekly and monthly meteor quests and the "take part in server events" quests.
Tips#
- On a planet, enchants with a small area (Explosive, Vein Miner) matter most because everything else is switched off.
- Watch chat for the meteor broadcast. The 50,000-token pool is split by damage, and only hand breaks count, so keep breaking meteor blocks yourself until it is destroyed.
- Planets give the same prestige and rebirth multipliers as your own mine, so they are worth visiting once you have the prestige to enter.
