Pickaxe enchanting is how you power up your Prison pickaxe: its enchantments are bought with tokens in a menu and are unrelated to the enchant shop's runes and books. You open the menu from the pickaxe, pick an enchant, and buy levels one, five, twenty-five, fifty or a hundred at a time.
Opening the menu#
- Hold your pickaxe and right-click, or
- run
/pickaxewhile holding the pickaxe (aliases/pickand/enchant).
If you are not holding a pickaxe the game says "You must be holding a pickaxe to do this!". The right-click shortcut can be switched off in /options; on Bedrock mobile it is off by default.
The Enchanting menu#
The main menu is titled "Enchanting". It shows the pickaxe enchants in one list, sorted by the prestige you need to unlock it; use the page arrows at the bottom to scroll through it. Enchants you have not unlocked yet stay visible, marked "LOCKED: You need to be Prestige N", and clicking them does nothing.
| Unlock prestige | Enchants |
|---|---|
| Prestige 0 | Explosive, Fortune, Frostbite, Haste, Night Vision, Speed, Token Finder, Treasure Finder, Vein Miner |
| Prestige 1 | Glitch Bomb |
| Prestige 2 | Slicer, Token Rush |
| Prestige 3 | Gold Rush, Raining Anvils, Zeus |
| Prestige 4 | Beacon Rush, Cluster Bomb |
| Prestige 5 | Double Slicer, Laser |
| Prestige 6 | Blackhole, Solar Beam |
| Prestige 7 | Jackhammer, Supernova |
| Prestige 8 | Double Layer, Nuke |
Each enchant tile shows a rarity label that follows the prestige needed (Common at Prestige 0, Rare at 1 to 2, Epic at 3 to 4, Legendary at 5 to 6, Mythic at 7 to 8), your current level and the enchant's description. The "Max Level" line on a tile is not your buying limit; how far you can go depends on your prestige and rebirths (Pickaxe Enchant Caps). Enchants glow when you can afford the next level.
The "Pickaxe Skins" button at the bottom opens the skin menu (The Pickaxe). Skin Mastery (unlocked from Prestige 0) is not in the enchant list: its level menu opens from the Skin Mastery button in the Pickaxe Skins menu.
Buying levels#
Click an enchant to open its own menu, titled "Enchant (name)":
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| +1, +5, +25, +50, +100 levels | Buys that many levels. The button shows the cost, your stored pickaxe tokens, your current level and the new level |
| Max Upgrade | Buys as many levels as you can currently afford, within your cap |
| Auto level | Switches automatic level buying on or off for this enchant |
| Remove enchantments | Opens the unenchant menu |
| Back | Returns to the main menu |
Prices are explained on Pickaxe Enchant Costs. Stored tokens in the pickaxe are spent before your token balance. After a purchase, chat confirms it ("Enchantment (name) (level) added to your pickaxe for (cost)!"), and the menu reopens with fresh prices.
When a purchase is refused#
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| You cannot afford this enchantment! | Not enough tokens |
| Reach Prestige N to unlock this enchantment. | You have not unlocked the enchant yet |
| This enchant is capped at level N for now — reach Prestige P to raise the cap! | Your prestige cap; see Pickaxe Enchant Caps |
| This enchant is at its maximum of N — reach Rebirth R to raise the maximum! | Rebirth maximum |

Skin Mastery can only be upgraded while an exclusive pickaxe skin is applied ("Apply an exclusive pickaxe skin to level up Skin Mastery!").
Which enchants exist#
See Pickaxe Enchants for the full list with what each one does, and Pickaxe Enchant Caps and Pickaxe Enchant Costs for limits and prices. Tokens are covered on Prison Currencies.
