Prison Restrictions

The rules built into Prison servers, from safe mines with no damage or hunger to the vanilla actions that are switched off, such as inventory crafting, respawn anchors and cauldrons.

Prison restrictions are the rules that the Prison servers apply on top of normal Minecraft. Some protect you while you mine, and some switch off vanilla actions that Prison does not use. They apply to everyone and cannot be changed in the options.

Mines, plots and prestige mines#

Your personal mine, your plot and the shared prestige mines are working spaces, so they are made safe and quiet.

RuleWhat happens
No damageYou cannot be damaged in a mine, plot or prestige mine, whether by falling, fire, drowning, mobs or other players
No hungerYour food bar is held full while you are in a mine, plot or prestige mine
No natural mobsNo mobs spawn on their own in mines, plots or prestige mines, including patrols, wandering traders and phantoms
Always midnightThe time in your mine and in prestige mines is fixed at midnight. A plot keeps the time its owner has chosen
Safety netIf you fall out of the bottom of a mine, plot or prestige mine you are sent to that world's spawn. You take no fall damage from that drop

In prestige mines you also cannot place blocks, use buckets, or place item frames, paintings, armour stands or other objects, and only blocks inside the mining area can be broken. The spawn and walkways are scenery. See Mines and Prestige Mines for the mines themselves.

Vanilla actions that are switched off#

ActionRule
Crafting in your inventoryThe small 2x2 crafting grid in your inventory gives no result, so you cannot take anything from it. Crafting tables are not affected
Respawn anchorsRight-clicking a respawn anchor does nothing. You cannot charge one or use it to set your respawn point
CauldronsYou cannot fill a cauldron, and you cannot fill a bucket from one

These rules apply across each Prison server, not just in one area.

Other rules you may meet#

  • You cannot drop your pickaxe or put it in a container, and you keep it when you die. See The Pickaxe.
  • Only you and your gang can break blocks in your mine, and trusted players can visit but not mine. See Mines.
  • You cannot place blocks or use buckets in a mine. Building happens on plots, and only players with build access to a plot can build there. See Plot Access and Settings.

Tips#

  • If you fall out of the bottom of your mine or plot you are returned to its spawn, so there is no need to log out or respawn.
  • If crafting seems broken, use a crafting table. Only the grid in your inventory is turned off.
