Boosters

Money, token and beacon boosters multiply what you earn for a set time, are activated by right-clicking, and stack, queue and pause by fixed rules.

Boosters are timed multipliers for your Prison income. A Money Booster raises what you are paid when you sell, a Token Booster raises the tokens you earn per block, and a Beacon Booster raises the beacons found in your mine. Most boosters are items you receive from crates and rank kits and activate by right-clicking.

Using a booster#

Hold the booster item and right-click. The item is used up and the booster starts. Most booster items confirm it with a BOOSTER ACTIVATED! title showing the name and duration; the boosters named after a rank, and the Daily Tokens Booster, confirm in chat instead, for example "Activated Savage Money Booster: 1.5x for 90 minutes." A booster is never wasted: if one of the same kind is already running, the new one joins your queue or adds its time to it (see Stacking, queueing and pausing).

While a Money, Token or Beacon Booster runs, a boss bar at the top of the screen shows its multiplier and the time left. /boosters opens a menu of everything you have running, with where each bonus comes from; see Boosters.

Booster items#

All multipliers are totals: 2x means double. Prestige, rebirth, voting and chat-game rewards are the crates you earn by playing (prestige, rebirth, vote and chat game) and always hold these boosters. Limited-time crates and lootboxes rotate, so a booster listed against them may not be on offer right now. See Prison Crates for the odds.

Dungeon Shop boosters#

The Dungeon Shop sells three boosters for Sewer Shards. They are not items: each one starts, or joins your queue, as soon as you buy it.

Stacking, queueing and pausing#

Each kind of booster (money, tokens, beacons) has its own queue, and only one booster of a kind runs at a time.

SituationWhat happens
You activate a booster with the same multiplier as one already running or queuedThey merge: the new one adds its time to the existing one
You activate a booster with a different multiplierThe queue is re-ordered by multiplier, highest first. A stronger booster starts at once and the weaker one waits with its remaining time
You log off, or move to another gamemodeYour boosters pause and keep their remaining time, 30-day boosters included. They continue when you are back on Prison

Money and token boosters follow you: they apply to your own sales and breaks wherever you are on Prison. A Beacon Booster works on the mine instead: it raises the beacons that anyone finds in the mine of the player who activated it, and only while that player is on Prison, since their boosters pause when they leave. Your own Beacon Booster does nothing for beacons you find in someone else's mine. Active boosters are also shown in your Prison stats; see Prison Menus.

Rollcall and Adrenaline Surges#

  • The hourly rollcall gives a 1.1x money booster for the time left until the next rollcall opens. It is an ordinary money booster, so it joins the money queue: while a stronger Money Booster runs, the rollcall boost waits behind it instead of adding to it. Leftover time from an earlier rollcall boost is added to the new one.
  • An Adrenaline Surge raises money, tokens and beacons together and never pauses while you are offline. A successful dungeon run grants one: Easy +10% for 1 hour, Medium +15% for 2 hours, Hard +20% for 3 hours. A new surge never adds to the one you have: a weaker run leaves a stronger surge as it is, and an equal or stronger run sets the new bonus and keeps whichever end time is later. See Dungeon Surges and Weekly Prizes.

Surges have their own slot, separate from the booster queues, so they add to your normal boosters instead of replacing them. See Income Multipliers for how the bonuses are summed.

Tips#

  • Use boosters when you can mine for the whole duration. Because they pause when you log off, you lose nothing by closing the game, but you only benefit while you are playing.
  • Run your biggest boosters during an Adrenaline Surge: the surge adds to them. A rollcall boost does not add to a stronger Money Booster, it waits until that one ends.
  • Activating a weaker booster while a stronger one runs costs nothing: it waits in the queue with its full time.
