An Enchant Token is an enchanted book item that adds levels of one enchant to your pickaxe without spending tokens. It carries an apply chance: if the roll fails, the token is destroyed. Mystery Dust raises a token's apply chance before you use it. Both come from crates, and the daily Default Kit also gives a token.
Enchant Tokens#
A token is named "(enchant) (level) Enchant Token", for example "Zeus V Enchant Token". Its lore shows:
- Apply chance: the chance it adds the levels.
- Destroy chance: 100% minus the apply chance.
Using a token#
- Open your inventory, pick the token up with your cursor.
- Click your pickaxe (swap the token onto it).
- The token is consumed. If the roll succeeds, the pickaxe gains the token's levels, with an enchanting-table sound. If it fails you hear an item-break sound and the levels are lost.
Rules:
- The levels are added to what you already have: a 5-level token on a level 20 enchant makes it 25.
- Tokens ignore the prestige purchase cap and the prestige unlock, so you can go above what you could buy. They cannot go above the enchant's maximum, which rises with rebirth for some enchants. A token that would pass it is refused whole, and you keep it: "This enchant's maximum is (max) right now — reach Rebirth (N) to apply more levels!" for enchants whose maximum grows with rebirth, otherwise "You cannot apply this token to this item!". See Pickaxe Enchant Caps.
- A token that cannot go on that item is refused and kept: "You cannot apply this token to this item!"
- Tokens do not stack: each one is a separate item.
- Levels from tokens are free, so disenchanting them refunds nothing. See removing levels.
Mystery Dust#
Mystery Dust is red dust that reads "Click on an enchant token to increase the apply chance by (N)%".
- Pick the dust up with your cursor.
- Click an enchant token in your inventory.
- One dust is used up and its percentage is added to the token's apply chance, up to 100%: a 25% token with one +25% dust becomes 50%. You see "Mystery dust applied successfully! New success chance: (chance)".
If the token is already at 100% the dust is refused and kept: "Mystery dust cannot be applied to this token! It is already at max success chance." Dust stacks to 64 and cannot be placed as a block. It is a different item from the enchant shop's Mystery Dust, which works on enchant shop books instead.
Where they come from#
Tokens and dust are crate rewards. The crates you earn by progressing always hold the same tokens and dust; odds are on each crate's page. The daily Default Kit (/kit default) also gives an Explosive token of 5 levels at 100%.
| Source | Enchant tokens (levels added, apply chance) | Mystery Dust |
|---|---|---|
| Prestige rewards (every prestige) | Glitch Bomb 10 (100%), Zeus 5 (100%), Beacon Rush 2 (25%), Nuke 1 (10%) | 5 × +25% |
| Rebirth rewards (every rebirth) | Nuke 5, Supernova 5, Beacon Rush 3, Zeus 10, Double Layer 1, Double Slicer 1 (all 100%) | 10 × +25% |
| Chat-game rewards (winning a chat game) | - | 5 × +10% |
Limited-time lootboxes have also offered tokens and dust. What they hold changes as rewards rotate, so check the crate preview instead of relying on a fixed list:
- Apply chances have run from 10% up to 100%. A 100% token always works.
- Some have held a bundle that gives several tokens at once, for example a Nuke, Supernova and Beacon Rush set.
Tips#
- A 100% token is safe to use at any time. Raise lower-chance tokens with Mystery Dust before applying them.
- Use tokens on enchants you would otherwise wait many prestiges to buy: they skip the cap.
- Check the maximum first. Tokens above the maximum are refused, not wasted.
