Tree Feller

Legendary axe enchant with a chance per level to chop down every log connected to the one you break.

Tree Feller is a Legendary enchant for Diamond Axe axes. When you break a log, it has a chance to chop down every log connected to that one, up to 50 logs, with a falling-wood sound. The chance grows with each level.

How to get it#

Tree Feller comes from the Legendary rune. A Legendary rune costs 200,000 XP in the enchant shop and turns into an enchanted book with one of the 31 Legendary enchants in Survival, picked at random, so each rune has a 1 in 31 chance of being Tree Feller. See Runes for how the level and the success chance of a rune book are rolled.

Effect#

Each time you break a log with the enchanted axe in your main hand, Tree Feller rolls its chance, which is 15% per level. Any block from the logs group counts as a log, including stripped logs, wood blocks and the crimson and warped stems. On a success, one tick later, every log connected to the one you broke is broken as well, up to 50 logs. Logs count as connected when they touch at a face, or when they sit diagonally next to each other on the same layer, and they do not have to be the same type of wood.

The felled logs are broken as if you had mined them yourself and cost no tool durability. Only the log you break first wears the axe down. Leaves are not touched; Timber is the enchant that removes them.

Notes and tips#

  • Compared with Timber, Tree Feller has a lower cap (50 logs instead of 200), works through mixed wood types and any log variant, and leaves the foliage standing. Timber has a flat 50% chance; Tree Feller reaches 60% at level IV. Both can sit on the same axe.
  • Blocks felled by Tree Feller do not start another Tree Feller. Telekinesis collects their drops.
  • Only the log you break yourself counts toward quest progress; the felled logs do not.
  • Lower levels are more likely when a rune book is revealed (level of the book).
