Marriage

Marry another player on Survival with /marry, share a private home, teleport to your partner, kiss and claim an Anniversary Ring every year. Marrying and divorcing are free.

Marriage links two Survival players as partners. Partners share one private home, can teleport straight to each other, can kiss, and each earn an Anniversary Ring on every wedding anniversary. Marrying costs nothing, there is no ceremony, and you can divorce at any time.

Quick start#

  1. Run /marry. If you are single, the Find Your Match... menu opens. Click the head of the player you want to propose to. You can also type /marry request <player>.
  2. Your future partner sees "<you> has asked you to marry them!" and runs /marry accept <player> with your name.
  3. You are married the moment they accept. Everyone on Survival sees "<name> and <name> just got married!".

A proposal runs out after 5 minutes. Both of you then get "Your marriage request to <name> has expired." and "Your marriage request from <name> has expired."

Commands#

/marriage works anywhere /marry is written below.

CommandWhat it does
/marrySingle: opens Find Your Match.... Married: opens the Marriage Menu (alias /marry info)
/marry request <player>Propose to a player by name
/marry accept <player>Accept a proposal. <player> is the one who proposed
/marry decline <player>Decline a proposal. <player> is the one who proposed
/marry tpTeleport to your partner
/marry sethomeSet the shared marriage home at your location
/marry homeTeleport to the marriage home
/marry delhomeDelete the marriage home
/marry anniversaryOpen the Marriage Rewards... menu (alias /marry rewards)
/marry divorceEnd the marriage (alias /divorce)

Kissing is not a command, see Kissing below.

Proposing#

  • You can only be married to one player at a time, and there is no rank, level or money requirement.
  • The Find Your Match... menu lists every other player who is online on Survival, 14 heads per page. Click a head to send the proposal. The menu closes so you can read the confirmation: "You have asked <name> to marry you!"
  • You and the player you propose to have one shared proposal slot. If either of you has already proposed to the other and it has not expired or been answered, a second proposal fails with "You have already requested to marry this player!" Accept their proposal instead.
  • Declining removes the proposal without telling the proposer, and you get no confirmation message either. Letting it expire instead sends both of you the expiry messages above.
MessageMeaning
"You cannot marry yourself!"You named your own account
"You are already married!"You must divorce first
"The player you are trying to marry is already married!"They have a partner
"You have already requested to marry this player!"A proposal between the two of you is still open
"The player you are trying to marry has not requested to marry you!"You tried to accept or decline, but no open proposal from that player exists (or it expired)

The wedding#

Marriage happens instantly when the proposal is accepted. There is no ceremony to attend, and the partners do not need to be in the same place.

  • The announcement "<name> and <name> just got married!" goes to every player on Survival.
  • Wedding Guests in your Marriage Menu is the number of players who were online on the accepting player's server at the moment of the wedding.
  • The marriage records its date. Your anniversaries count from it.

Marriage Menu#

Married players who run /marry see a three-button menu titled Marriage Menu....

ButtonWhat it shows or does
Partner Profile (player head)Your partner's name, the Date Married, the Wedding Guests count and your partner's current Balance
Marriage Home (bed)Click to set the home at your current location. Shown while no home is set
Visit Home (bed)Click to teleport to the home, right-click to remove it. Shown once a home is set
Information (book)A reminder of the commands: shift-click your partner to kiss, /marry home, /marry tp, /marry gift, /marry rewards, /marry divorce

The menu closes by itself if the marriage ends while it is open.

Marriage home#

A marriage has one shared home. Either partner can set, use or delete it.

  • /marry sethome saves your current position and replaces any home that is already set: "Set your home to <x y z>."
  • /marry home teleports you there: "Teleporting to your home..."
  • /marry delhome removes it: "Removed your home."
  • With no home set you see "You don't have a home set!". In a spot that cannot be saved you see "You can't set your home here!"
  • It is separate from your personal homes, so it does not use up a home slot. See Homes and Teleports for those.

Teleport to your partner#

/marry tp teleports you to your partner: "Teleporting to your partner..." There is no cost, no cooldown and no accept step, and Survival has no teleport warm-up, so it is immediate.

  • Your partner must be online: "Your partner is not online!"
  • You must both be on Survival: "You can only teleport to your partner when you're both in the same realm."

Gifts#

The Information book in the Marriage Menu also lists /marry gift, which hands the stack in your main hand to your partner. Gifting needs separate access that is not part of any Survival rank's perks. Without it, the command answers "You do not have access to this command!"

Kissing#

Hold Shift and right-click your partner. Three hearts rise above them with a short high-pitched sound. The kiss has a 3 second cooldown per player and only works between partners, on the same server.

Anniversary rewards#

Every year on your wedding date, a reward becomes claimable. Open /marry anniversary (or /marry rewards) to see the Marriage Rewards... menu.

IconStateMeaning
Lime concrete powderAvailable RewardReached. Click to claim "your N-Year Anniversary"
Yellow concrete powderUnavailable RewardNot reached yet. It shows the date it unlocks
Red concrete powderClaimed RewardYou already took this one
  • Rewards unlock at 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and so on after the Date Married. The menu lists every anniversary that has passed plus the next one coming up.
  • Each partner claims separately. Both of you get your own ring for every anniversary.
  • Missed anniversaries stay claimable. If you were away for three years, three rings are waiting.
  • If your inventory is full, the ring drops at your feet.

Anniversary Ring#

The reward is an Anniversary Ring, a glowing paper keepsake that does not stack. Its lore reads "This ring commemorates your N-Year Anniversary!", shows both partners' names and ends with the "Anniversary Date". It is a collectible: it has no gameplay effect.

Notifications and options#

When your partner joins or leaves Survival you are told: "Your partner <name> has joined the server!" and "Your partner <name> has left the server!" Open /options (aliases /settings and /preferences) and use Toggle Marriage Join/Leave to turn these messages off. They are on by default. See Settings and Options.

Divorce#

/marry divorce or /divorce ends the marriage at once.

  • It is free, has no cooldown and asks for no confirmation, so type it only when you mean it.
  • Both of you see "You are now divorced. ;-;"
  • The marriage home is deleted and anniversary progress is lost, including rewards you had not claimed yet. Rings you already claimed stay in your inventory.
  • Either of you can propose to someone new straight away.
  • With no marriage, you see "You are not married!"
