Crop Hopper

A hopper that harvests and replants every crop in its chunk and sends the harvest to attached storage.

The Crop Hopper harvests and replants the crops of its whole chunk for you. Ripe crops are cut as they finish growing, replanted as seedlings and sent into the attached storage.

How to get it#

Crop Hoppers are sold and dropped with a starting battery time:

How to use it#

  1. Place the Crop Hopper like a hopper, facing the container that should receive the crops.
  2. Right-click it to open its menu and add Batteries.
  3. Use the filter button to switch between Blacklist and Whitelist, then click crops in the list to choose which ones are harvested ("Crop will be harvested" / "Crop will NOT be harvested").

What it harvests#

Wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, nether wart, sweet berries, sugar cane, cactus, melons and pumpkins in its chunk.

How it works#

  • Each ripe crop is harvested and replanted as a new seedling.
  • It passes up to 64 items at a time on to the attached container.
  • Crops that ripened while the hopper had no battery are caught up by a sweep every 5 seconds that takes up to 64 ripe crops each time.
  • Void chance: 25% of the harvested crops are voided (lost) instead of stored.
  • Clear Chunk: a button in the menu clears every crop in the chunk for a fee of $100,000; the confirmation menu shows the fee. It helps when the farm overgrew because the battery ran out or the storage overflowed.
