Live Survival Map

The live Survival world map on the Netherite website: where to find it, the claims and grid layers, and how to show or hide yourself on it.

The Live Survival Map is an interactive map of the Survival overworld, built into the Netherite website. You can explore your base, find towns and plan routes in your browser, without an account and without joining the game.

Open Community > Survival Map on the website (the page is /survival/map). The map fills the window under the top bar and works on a phone as well as a computer. Drag to pan and scroll or pinch to zoom; the map has its own on-screen controls for everything else. In game, /worldmap posts a clickable link to the map in chat.

Show or hide yourself#

By default you are not shown on the map. Players appear only if they switch themselves on.

  1. Open your options menu with /options.
  2. Find Hide yourself on the map. "Enabled" means you are hidden.
  3. Toggle it. Chat confirms You are now visible on the online map. or You are no longer visible on the online map.

Tips#

  • Switch on the Claims layer to check whether land is free before you travel there.
  • Use the Grid Edges layer to see whether a spot is within 32 blocks of a sector line, where you cannot build or claim. See Sectors and the World Edge.
  • Claim outlines refresh about every 3 minutes, and terrain is a rendered picture of the world, so a new claim or build can take a while to appear.
  • If the map does not load, reload the page. The map is served separately from the rest of the website, so it can be unavailable while the website works.
  • Claims and towns are created in game, never on the map.
