Safari Net

A consumable net that captures a mob into a spawn egg, in Survival.

The Safari Net captures a mob and turns it into a spawn egg that keeps the mob's data. Right-click a mob with the net and you receive an egg you can use later to spawn that exact mob again, with its health and name.

How to get it#

Safari Nets are reward items in Survival. They can be found in:

  • Lootboxes and crates
  • Monthly vote milestone
  • Mystery vault

How to use it#

  1. Hold the net and right-click a mob.
  2. The mob disappears and you receive a spawn egg of that mob type. The net is used up (one net per capture).
  3. Use the egg on the ground to release the mob. The egg's lore shows the mob type, its health and its name ("Captured using a Safari Net").

The net cannot be placed as a block.

What you cannot capture#

  • Wither, Ender Dragon, Ghast, Warden and players.
  • Mobs that have no spawn egg.

Captured eggs cannot be used to change the mob type of a spawner ("You can't change a spawner's mob type with a spawn egg.").
