Vitality is an Uncommon enchant for any piece of armor. Each worn piece with Vitality raises your maximum health by 1 HP (half a heart) per level, and the bonuses from different pieces add together.
How to get it#
Buy an Uncommon rune in the enchant shop for 10,000 XP. Opening the rune gives an enchanted book with one of the 24 enchants in the Uncommon pool, and every enchant in the pool is equally likely. See Runes for how the pool and the book level work.
Effect#
- While a piece with Vitality is worn, your maximum health is raised by 1 HP per level of that piece.
- Every worn piece with Vitality gives its own bonus. A level VI helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots together give 24 HP, which is 12 extra hearts.
- Taking a piece off removes its bonus. If your current health is above the new maximum, it drops to the new maximum.
Levels#
| Level | Bonus per piece | Extra hearts per piece |
|---|---|---|
| I | +1 HP | 0.5 |
| II | +2 HP | 1 |
| III | +3 HP | 1.5 |
| IV | +4 HP | 2 |
| V | +5 HP | 2.5 |
| VI | +6 HP | 3 |
Notes and tips#
- Vitality is the only armor enchant in this group where several pieces add up. The other armor enchants use only the highest level among your worn pieces.
- Effects with a health threshold, such as Adrenaline, Resilience and Berserker, measure that threshold as a share of your maximum health, so extra Vitality hearts raise the amount of health each threshold represents.
- For the hearts you gain and lose in Lifesteal itself, see Hearts.
