Spawner storage holds everything a spawner produces until you collect it. Each placed spawner has its own item storage and its own XP storage, shared by the whole stack.
What goes into storage#
- Physical mode: the drops and XP of every mob killed at the spawner. The drops no longer fall on the ground.
- Virtual mode: the loot and XP the spawner produces each cycle.
- The Drop Chance upgrade can add copies of drops in physical mode. See Spawner Upgrades.
Capacity#
| Storage | Default | Upgrade 1 | Upgrade 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Item slots | 54 | 8,192 | 32,768 |
| XP | 10,000 | 25,000 | 100,000 |
Each slot holds one drop exactly as it was produced, for example 2 Rotten Flesh from one virtual roll, or one item drop from a kill. Drops are not merged into full 64-item stacks, so a large virtual stack can fill the default 54 slots in one or two cycles. Buy the Storage upgrades before growing a big stack. See storage upgrades.
Capacity belongs to the placed stack. Adding spawners to a stack does not add storage, and a partial withdrawal does not take any with it.
When storage is full#
- Items that do not fit are dropped on the ground: where the mob died in physical mode, at the spawner in virtual mode. Production does not stop.
- XP that does not fit drops as experience orbs where the mob died. In virtual mode a cycle whose XP does not fit is skipped, so production waits until you collect.
Collecting#
| Method | Details |
|---|---|
| Panel button | Click Collect storage in the panel. Anyone who can open the panel can use it. |
| Command | Look at the spawner (within 8 blocks) and run /spawner collect. Owner only, or anyone for a spawner with no owner. |
Collecting moves every stored item into your inventory and gives you the stored XP. Items that do not fit in your inventory drop at your feet. A chat message tells you how many item stacks and how much XP you collected.
If you go offline while a collection is being delivered, a command collection goes back into storage and a panel collection is dropped at the spawner. If a stored item cannot be read, collection fails with "Collection failed because one stored item could not be decoded."
Selling instead of collecting#
You can turn stored items straight into money with /spawner sell. See Selling Spawner Drops.
