Soul Eater

Rare weapon enchant that heals you when you kill another player, up to the Lifesteal heal cap of 1.5 HP.

Soul Eater is a Rare enchant for swords and axes. When you kill another player while holding the weapon in your main hand, you heal 1 HP plus 0.5 HP per level, as far as the Lifesteal heal cap allows.

How to get it#

Buy a Rare rune in the enchant shop for 20,000 XP. Opening the rune gives an enchanted book with one of the 13 enchants in the Rare pool, and every enchant in the pool is equally likely. See Runes for how the pool and the book level work.

Effect#

  • The enchant triggers when a player dies and you are credited with the kill. Killing mobs does nothing.
  • You heal 1 HP plus 0.5 HP per level of the enchant, but never above your maximum health.
  • The heal goes through the Lifesteal heal cap, which lets at most 1.5 HP (three quarters of a heart) be restored in any one second. The cap is shared with Vampire (Combat). See the lifesteal heal limit.

Levels#

LevelHeal before the capHeal after the cap
I1.5 HP1.5 HP
II2 HPup to 1.5 HP
III2.5 HPup to 1.5 HP
IV3 HPup to 1.5 HP
V3.5 HPup to 1.5 HP

With the current heal cap of 1.5 HP per second, a single kill cannot heal more than 1.5 HP, so levels II to V restore the same amount as level I. A kill that comes within a second of another enchant heal restores less, because that earlier heal already used part of the cap.

Notes and tips#

  • Soul Eater only rewards player kills, so it is mainly useful in player fights.
  • If you want healing during a fight rather than after a kill, see Vampire (Combat).
