Clan members are managed with the /clan command family. Invites are sent by name, expire after 5 minutes, and are answered with /clan accept <clan> or /clan reject <clan>. Who may run each command depends on the member's role; see Clan Roles and Permissions.
Joining a clan#
| Step | Command | Who | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invite a player | /clan invite <player> | Co-Leader, Leader | The target gets a clickable message with /clan accept <clan>. |
| Cancel an invite | /clan cancel <player> | Co-Leader, Leader | Removes a pending invite. |
| Accept an invite | /clan accept <clan> or /clan join <clan> | Invited player | You join as a Member. |
| Decline an invite | /clan reject <clan> | Invited player | Removes the invite. |
What happens along the way:
- When you invite someone, the clan sees "{inviter} has invited {player} to the clan." The player sees "You've been invited to join {clan} by {owner}." with a clickable
/clan accept <clan>. - An invite that nobody answers expires after 5 minutes. The invited player then sees "Your invite to {clan} has expired."
- A player can only hold one open invite from the same clan at a time. Inviting them again gives "This player is already invited."
- Accepting an invite tells the clan "{player} has joined the clan."
- The member limit is checked twice, when the invite is sent and when it is accepted. If the clan is full you get "The clan has reached its member limit." The limit comes from the ranks of the clan's members; see Clan Roles and Permissions.
Errors you may see#
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| No invitation found. | There is no open invite from that clan, it expired, or it was cancelled. |
| This player is already a member of this clan. | You tried to invite someone who is already in the clan. |
| The player is already a member of another guild. | You tried to accept an invite while you are still in a clan. Leave your current clan first. |
| The player could not be found. | The name does not match a known player. |
| That clan could not be found. | The clan name is wrong or the clan was disbanded. |
| You do not have permission to perform this action. | Your role is too low for that command. |
Leaving and being removed#
| Action | Command | Who | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leave | /clan leave | Any member except the Leader | The clan sees "{player} has left the clan." |
| Kick | /clan kick <player> | Co-Leader, Leader | The clan sees "{player} has been kicked from the clan." |
The Leader cannot leave ("The clan owner cannot leave the clan.") and cannot be kicked. A Leader who wants out has to pass the clan on with /clan transfer <player> or close it with /clan disband. You also cannot kick yourself; use /clan leave instead.
Roles: promote and demote#
/clan promote <player> raises a Member to Co-Leader, and /clan demote <player> lowers a Co-Leader back to Member. The clan sees "{player} has been promoted to Co-Leader." or "{player} has been demoted to Member."
In practice only the Leader can change roles: a Co-Leader is not allowed to promote anyone to their own level or demote someone at their own level. The messages for edge cases are:
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| This player already has the highest role. | You tried to promote a Co-Leader or the Leader. The Leader role is only passed on with /clan transfer <player>. |
| This player already has the lowest role. | You tried to demote a Member. |
| The clan owner cannot change their own role. | You tried to demote the Leader. |
Transferring or disbanding#
Both commands are Leader-only and ask for confirmation in a menu before they act.
| Command | Confirmation menu | Result |
|---|---|---|
/clan transfer <player> | Transfer Clan - "Are you sure you want to transfer your clan's ownership?" with Yes, transfer! and Cancel | The chosen member becomes Leader and you drop to Member. The clan sees "{player} is now the clan owner." The target must already be a member; otherwise you see "This player isn't a member of the clan." |
/clan disband | Disband Clan - "Are you sure you want to disband your clan?" and "This action cannot be undone!" with Yes, disband! and Cancel | Every member sees "The clan has been disbanded." The clan, its warps, alliances and points are removed. |
Looking up clans#
| Command | What it shows |
|---|---|
/clan info [clan] (alias /clan show) | The clan you name, a clan you give a member's name for, or your own clan if you leave the argument out. |
/clan list [page] | Clans that have at least one member online, sorted by the number of members online, 10 per page. Click a clan in the list to open its info. |
/clan strikes <clan> | The strikes recorded against a clan, if any. |
/clan info prints the clan name with how many members are online, then one line per role (Leader first, then Co-Leaders, then Members). Online members are shown in green and offline members in grey, each with their kill count in brackets. The footer lists the clan's Points, KOTHs Captured, Member Limit, Ally Limit and Warp Limit.
If the name matches neither a clan nor a player who is in a clan, or you leave the argument out while you have no clan, the game answers "That clan could not be found." If your page number is out of range /clan list answers "Invalid page number. Valid pages: 1-{n}", and when nobody is online it prints "No clans with online members found."
/clan strikes <clan> answers "This clan has no strikes." or prints each strike as (#id) reason (date). Strikes are recorded by staff; their effect on the weekly leaderboard is explained on Clan Leaderboard and Points.
